Cautionary House Call

The rest of the evening went by well. After planning their mission, the three teens went for gear and found something very nice for Shaun.

Then afterwards, they had some dinner, watched a movie -plus a FaceTime call from Jamie to Torunn(they missed each other)- and clocked out for the night....or so the grown-ups thought.

5:42 AM

The halls of the Avengers Mansion were quiet and all bedroom doors were closed. Everyone was in their rooms sleeping soundly...well, almost everyone.

On the outside wall of the mansion, a line hung from a bedroom window. And from that window, three dark figures emerged, sliding down the line before landing on the ground.

The three: Jamie, Nikki, and Shaun.

"That wasn't so bad." Shaun said.

"Oh, you haven't seen anything yet," Nikki replied as she reeled up her line. She then slipped it into her backpack before throwing the bag back on her back. "Alright, ready."

"Let's go." Jamie said.

And the three teens walked off into the night, leaving the house full of unsuspecting friends. One they were a good mile or so away from the property, Jamie looked back and began to think.

"I'm honestly surprised we didn't get caught by anybody," he said, "I mean, I thought at least Uncle Bucky would've caught us."

"Oh, I took care of that," Nikki stated.

"What do you mean?" Shaun asked.

"You remember how he had a beer earlier at dinner?"

Shaun nodded, but then he realized. "Wait, you roofied him?!"

Nikki laughed at that. "No, of course not! I just put some of Uncle Thor's strong Asgardian mead in his beer. No harm done."

Hearing that made Jamie laugh. But Shaun was shocked.

"Girl, you are lethal!" He stated.

A smirk came to her face and she winked at him. Nikki was many things. Lethal, yes. But sneaky as well.

And it was that sneakiness that aided them as their secret mission had begun.

***Train Yard*** 

Even though it was early, the yard  was alive with people working on trains, people boarding trains at the station, and a few horns blowing here and there.

But also, it had three kids running through it in the shadows.

"This reminds me if Madagascar 3," Jamie said as they paused for a moment. He was referring to the scene where the iconic four animals were running through a European train yard, evading animal control.

That comment, made Nikki laugh. "Peter would be proud of you if he heard that."

"I know."

Seeing that the coast was clear, they moved on. They were looking for a train that was bound for Baltimore. Although, this wasn't how one normally did it. No, instead of buying tickets for the train, they had planned to go with a more...secretive option. Namely, stowing away in the luggage cart.

Eventually, they found said cart and jumped in. The darkness of the early morning provided plenty of cover for them from any passersby. They waited there until the final call for the train went, the whistle blew and the train began to slowly make its way out of the station.
