First chapter, here we go! Enjoy!

***New York, Central Park***
The sky was painted a nice light blue and light traces of orange as the sun rose over New York, slowly illuminating the city that never slept.
A young man, Rayshaun Lucas, or Shaun for short, jogged along on a trail, taking it slow, as well as taking good deep breaths in his stride.
Suddenly, another runner with red hair who couldn't be much older than him, came up behind him, effortlessly running fast enough to pass him up.
"On your left!" He called out as he passed Shaun.
It caught Shaun by surprise as he didn't expect that. But he still kept jogging, eyeing the faster runner. Seeing that he was moving really fast and quite effortlessly, Shaun mentally 'wowed' as he kept on his stride.
Sometime later, the young runner came up and passed him again.
"On your left!" He said again.
"Uh-huh, on my left. Got it." Shaun replied, picking up his pace a little more as the kid kept on way ahead of him.
A few minutes later, Shaun heard the sound of feet pounding the trail behind him. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the same kid swiftly gaining on him again. He immediately started running faster, trying to gain more distance as if the two were in a leg race. Checking again, he could see the kid still gaining on him with ease. As he came closer and closer, Shaun knew what was coming.
"Don't say it!" He blurted, pushing himself to go faster, "Don't you say it!"
"On your left!" The kid called out again with a smile as he passed him once again and kept on.
"Come on, dude!"
Shaun tried to catch up, pushing himself as much as he could to keep going. But, he couldn't. He was burned out, and that other kid was WAY too fast, already yards ahead of him.
This was it, he couldn't do it. Slowly coming to a stop, he bent over and leaned on his knees, his lungs burning and gasping for air.

Not too long after, Shaun found himself sitting at the foot of a tree. Not like how you might see in movies when someone is relaxing in the sunshine. No, it was his lack of breath and tiredness from trying to outrun the kid from earlier. He was heaving and huffing like a tired racehorse, his T-shirt drenched in sweat on the chest area. His thoughts went back to that kid from earlier. The red hair was pretty much all he remembered about him. Other than the obvious fact that he was fast. Like STUPID fast! Whoever he was, the way he ran was something quite...super.
"Need a medic?" He heard someone ask.
Opening his eyes, he looked to his right and saw the very person he was thinking about.
Acknowledging his question, Shaun chuckled as he still tried to catch his breath. "Shoot, I need a new set of lungs. They're on fire, bro!"
The redhead laughed at that with his hands on his waist. "Well, I guess I did set the bar a little high, huh?"
"Ha! A little high?" Shaun exclaimed, his voice hitting a high pitch, "Dude, you just ran like, ten miles within thirty-nine minutes!"
