"You should've let me kill him." Nat stated, turning and heading back to the kitchen.

"I wont lie, I was definitely tempted to." Her husband replied, "Especially after that last part."

"You see!" Nat tried to rush past him again to head for the door, but Steve caught her and carried her over his shoulder back to the kitchen and set her down in her chair. Once seated, Nat leaned on her elbows and cupped her face, exhaling heavily into them.

As she did this, she felt a hand on her knee. Knowing who it was, she peeped through her fingers and saw Steve looking at her with a small smile, rubbing her thigh with his thumb.

"How're you so calm about this?" She asked, her voice muffled from her hands. But Steve understood well enough.

In reply, he gave a shrug and a light shake of the head. "Not so sure I am. I'm torn between a gut feeling and my brain, both telling me what has to be done."

Nat let her hands down and leaned her arms on the table, still holding her husband's gaze. "What's your brain telling you?"

"That this guy's gotta be stopped, before he hurts anyone else." Steve answered, with his usual stern 'man on a mission' look. "I'm willing to bet he's the reason for that VA break-in Fury's investigating."

Natasha nodded at that. "I thought of that too....and your gut? What's that telling you?"

When she asked that, Nat felt Steve's thumb freeze and saw him tense up a little. She soon understood why when he answered. "Protect my family, no matter what."

At that, Natasha stood from her chair, and hugged Steve's head to her stomach.

"The mansion's got good enough security, safety measures." Nat began, going through the options. "And with Bruce there, it'll be more than safe enough."

Steve nodded in agreement. "And with you there, the kid's will be even safer."

Nat furrowed her brow at that and gave Steve a confused look. "What, what do you mean? I'm coming with you."

Steve stood and held her by the shoulders. "No, Nat. You heard him, he's willing to stop anyone who gets in his way. The kids need their mother, and I need you alive!"

"And you'd need all the help you can get!" She retorted, looking him straight in the eyes.

Steve lowered his head, knowing this to be true. He was about to object again, but she cut him off.

"Hey, I'm your partner, remember? We're a team. For better or for worse. That's what we agreed on when we married, right?"

Recalling the touching memories, Steve nodded. Also remembering how beautiful she looked that day. Even though her pregnancy had already begun to show, it didn't lessen the beauty of her in that wedding dress. "I remember."

"Well then, you should know damn well by now that I am not letting you go out there alone."

As she said this, she had placed her hands on Steve's cheeks and caressed them with her thumbs. He felt the love and care through this gesture, and he knew she knew he loved it and that it was hard not to listen to her. The Black Widow was one persuasive mother.

Letting out a sigh, he looked back up to her. "What about Jamie and Nikki?" He asked.

Naturally, his slick and quick wife had an idea all ready to go.

"Bucky can take them to the mansion and watch them, and Sam can come with us for backup."

Steve couldn't argue, that was a pretty good plan. Bucky loved the twins to death, and he knew he would guard them with his life. And having Sam along would probably help. It would be just like the back in 2014 when they had to destroy the helicarriers.
