Chapter Twenty-One:
Failing the Mission

Rogue

"I thought you hated alcohol? What is this?" Solaire screeched as she walked around the messy penthouse.

"Kuya.." Na-aawang sabi niya. "Kuya, what happened? Is it Sapphire?"

My heart broke even more after hearing her name, today was her OB gyne appointment, I was supposed to be with her but she doesn't want me around anymore. It's so ironic that she left me after I finally came to accept the fact that I was in love with her.

The world is so unfair, I wanted to be more than just a father to our child. I was starting to picture waking up with her in my arms in the next coming mornings of my life, but it all seems too impossible now.

"Solaire, just leave." Walang buhay na sabi ko habang sapo-sapo ang ulo ko sa sobrang sakit.

"Kuya, the board just had a very important meeting yesterday, and you weren't there as a CEO. You've never done that. I'm here because I'm worried for you, Kuya. Ano na ba ang nangyayari sayo?" Nag-aalalang tanong niya.

"Sapphire..she doesn't..she doesn't want me around anymore." My voice broke and my lips shook.

"Aww Kuya.." Hinaplos ni Solaire ang buhok ko. "It'll be fine, let her cool off a bit baka magulo lang isip niya. Normally ganun talaga ang buntis, magulo ang isip, hayaan mo muna siya for now. Why don't you show her and prove to her that you can also be capable of being her lover?" She suggested, and as always, it lifted my mood. That was one of Solaire's many charms.

"Yeah, I should do that." I murmured.

"Yes Kuya, you will get up and do that. Come on, tutulungan kita mag linis dito, get up and get your woman." She giggled.

"Thank you for saving my ass in that meeting, I'm sorry about that too." I felt bad because she had to take care of my responsibilities while she had her own.

"Anytime Kuya, and if given the chance, I'll help you, again and again." She smiled and helped me up.

"You're godsent Saint Claire." I chuckled.

"My husband says the same." She smirked and I instantly felt my headache disappear. Did she just say husband?

"Husband?" Gulat na tanong ko, Solaire didn't have a husband when I left for Italy but apparently she has one now?

She excitedly raised her left hand, showing off her ring finger that wore a magnificent wedding band. "Got married last week, secretly though." She giggled.

I scoffed, "No wonder you are so happy, good for you. Is it that asshole? Myko's dad?"

"Kuya naman, you know he's a good guy, and yes it is Myko's dad, I could never marry anyone else." I felt envious of how happy my sister was.

If things turned out differently for us, would Sapphire be happy to marry me too?

Sapphire

"Sigurado ka ba na ayaw mong sumama kami sayo ni Geraldine? Baka kung mapano ka ha?" Sabi ni Mama habang hinahatid ako sa garahe kung saan naroon ang sasakyan ko.

"Ma, okay lang po ako, kaya ko na to tsaka baka dumaan din po ako sa bahay ng Tatay ng baby ko pagka tapos ng appointment ko." Ngiting sabi ko, I was finally excited.

For the first time in my pregnancy, I was actually excited to go for a check up to see it. Rogue was supposed to be with me today because this was the day that we finally get to find out about the gender but it was okay. I'll come to him after the appointment, letting him know that I chose him.

I sent my e-mail to the headquarters that I have failed my mission and will now be leaving the job. I realized so much after being apart from Rogue for a couple of days.

I realized that I needed him more than anything. Therefore, I'm choosing a life with him. He'll probably hate me and all but I will work hard to gain his forgiveness.

I love Rogue, and that's the truth.

"Are you ready to find out what your baby's gender is?" Excited na tanong ng doktora sa akin.

I nodded, feeling ecstatic. Today is the day that I get to find out what my baby's gender is, I couldn't help but feel like I'm on top of the world. I came to accept that this will be a baby, it's no longer a lump of cells anymore, even though it wasn't made out of love, I'll make sure that it is raised with so much love nevertheless.

"Oh, there it is! I see three legs!" She exclaimed with so much joy, pero nawala ang ngiti ko, three legs? Does that mean that my baby is not normal?

"D-Doc? Ano po? Three legs? Normal po ba yun?" Takot na tanong ko.

"Misis, what I meant by three legs is that it's a boy!" She happily exclaimed.

My world stopped. I'm going to have a baby boy with Rogue. For the first time in my life I felt complete, I thought that being good at my job is what made me feel more connected to my dad, turns out having a complete family was the answer all along.

I started shedding happy tears. "A boy, doc? I'm going to have a baby boy? Oh my gosh." Agad kong pinunasan ang mga nag-lalabasang luha ko, I was even shaking.

I can't wait to tell Rogue.

"Congratulations on your first baby, as usual, we'll get you to drink the milk that I prescribed for you, at wag kakalimutan ang daily vitamins para manatiling malusog si baby, at kung mai-sisingit, mag exercise ka na rin. At kung ibang exercise naman ang naiisip mo, puwedeng puwede parin naman 'yan basta kailangan mas maging careful lang." Ngiti na bilin ni Doktora.

"Thank you so much, doc." Sobrang saya ko.

"Walang ano man, siguradong matutuwa ang asawa mo."

"Sana nga po." Ngiti ko.

I was in pure bliss when I finally got to touch my sonogram. This was going to be our baby, a mini Rogue running around the house. I can't wait.

Once I got out of the hospital, I wanted to call Rogue to tell him right away, but I realized that I shouldn't do that yet, I'll personally surprise him in his penthouse. He'll probably jump in so much joy once he finds out.

I was on my way to my car sa underground parking lot ng hospital ng maramdaman kong para bang may sunod ng sunod sakin sa likuran ko. I stilled, suddenly feeling scared. Pero hindi ko na lang rin masyadong inisip, I just needed to get out of here.

When I got to where my car was I immediately let out a scream. My car windows were smashed.

Sinong pu-puwedeng gumawa nito?

"Miss me, babe?" Naka-ngisi na lumakad sa harap ko ang Lalaking kahit kailan ay di ko inakala na makikita ko ulit.

I instantly held my stomach in fear, I'm scared.
