Chapter 6

Chapter Six:
Part of the mission

Sapphire

"Sapphire, you know I can't lose you." Archer cries from the other line.

Napaiyak din ako, but I have to choose career over love because my career makes me feel more connected to my father. He was also an agent who worked for the government and all my life, I yearned for him. I wanted to be just like him.

"Arch, I'm choosing my job, I'm sorry." I sniffle in between words. "I know I sound like an asshole but this is the only thing that I ever wanted." I sobbed.

"Alam ko naman, Sapphire. Alam ko kung gaano mo ka-mahal yang trabaho mo na yan, pero di ko inakala na papakawalan mo ko nang para lang diyan." May galit at hinanakit sa boses ni Archer.

"I'm really sorry, Arch. I don't know what else to tell you." I swallowed a lump in my throat.

"This better be a job you're choosing over me, pag nalaman ko na there's another man behind you leaving me baka maka-patay ako Sapphire, hindi ko alam kung anong puwede kong gawin." Pag-babala nito.

My whole body trembled. Once he finds out that I'm pregnant, I'd be done for. Archer was the type to never stop until he got revenge.

"Wala, maniwala ka sakin Arch, it's just you. But I have to choose myself." Naiiyak na paliwanag ko.

"Come back to me when this is all over Saph, I'll be waiting." He cries and suddenly ends the video call.

Napa-sabunot nalang ako sa buhok ko. I really don't know what to do with Archer. I love him, I really do, but I just know that I can never have him again. He won't forgive me if he finds out.

I averted my attention to my luggage full of my clothes instead, I needed to get these things off of my mind. I'm still on a mission after all.

A few minutes later, I got the text message for the address and I quickly moved in order to put my things in my car. I can't have someone pack my stuff for me or else they'll find out about my occupation because of the number of devices that I have to keep.

My phone started ringing so I immediately answered. "Hello?"

A deep voice on the other line chuckled. "Hey, are you all ready to go? I can have someone drive for you." He offers.

"No thank you, I'm fine on my own I swear." I remind him, slightly chuckling at the sudden gesture.

"You sure? I wouldn't want you carrying heavy things." There was a sound of worry in his voice, does he really care that much?

But they said that Beau Vega was ruthless, I'm confused.

"The baby is still as tiny as a Raisin, no need to sweat about small things." Sabi ko.

"A Raisin?" Hindi maka-paniwalang tanong nito.

Mahina akong napa-tawa sa boses niyang parang gulat na gulat sa sinabi ko. "Mhm, a teeny-tiny Raisin." I chuckled.

"Well, don't tire yourself out when you move in. Take of yourself and the little Raisin." I could sense him smiling over the phone, and it made me smile very hard as well.

But I had to pull myself together, I can't be too comfortable, Beau Vega is nothing more than a mission, and this baby, well, it's not really a baby yet it's just a bunch of cells huddled together inside me. Eventually I'll get rid of it once my mission is over, but for now, it stands as a ticket helping me keep success at reach.

I was in awe when I finally came to the address that was sent to me. This was a luxurious penthouse building that only the richest of the rich could have access to. I guess this is what it feels like to be rich, but this wasn't my goal, I was impressed but not blinded by what I was seeing.

"Hi, are you Sapphire?" A well-built man who wore a pair of specs approached me, I was taken aback for a second but I recognized him.

According to my research this is Isidore Noele Levine, his cousin.

"Hi...do I know you?" I hesitantly asked, obviously acting.

He shyly chuckled and offered his hand. "I'm Sid, Beau's cousin. I'm here to help you move in, he's kinda busy with work right now so he asked me to come here instead." He elaborates.

I pretended to reluctantly shake his hand and gave him a small smile. "Oh..nice to meet you Sid."

"Likewise." He gorgeously smiles. I just know that most women are drooling over this guy, if he was my type I know I would be too. "Shall we head over to your new home?"

"Sure." I nod and he lead the way to the elevator after greeting the employees.

"Do you know them?" I curiously asked, raising a brow. "You're quite polite." I added.

"Beau's family owns this building so, they kinda work for the family, plus I just love greeting people." He shrugs and whistles as we wait for the elevator to open.

"You mean women in particular?" I jokingly tease.

He heartily laughs. "You got me there." He then smirks. "I like you." He comments but not in a romantic way.

It didn't take very long for us to arrive at the penthouse that I was going to live in. He quickly unlocked the door and let me go in first saying 'Ladies first cause chivalry is not dead' with a playful smile.

If I was in awe when I got in the building, I am now shocked because of the ethereal beauty inside this penthouse. This was the type of place that you'd only see in the movies but here I am, standing in one of them.

"Like what you see?" He asks, still smiling.

"I love what I see." I murmured.

"Well lucky for you lady, this is all yours right here. I have people bringing up your stuff from your car, they should be coming in any minute now. Do you need any help with anything else?" He checks in.

I shook my head, still eyeing the entire place, I haven't even seen the rooms. The place was so well designed and there was no empty spot, it was modern yet homey. It certainly looked like a place where you could raise children and have a family.

"Oh well, if you need me here's my business card, but Beau should be free in a few hours." He kindly smiles again.

"I'm okay, but thank you for the offer. I appreciate your small help." I joke.

He acted as if he was hurt, such a drama queen. "Small help? This is taking time away from my book club." He exaggerately opens his mouth in 'shock'.

I arched my brow, puzzled. "A book club?"

He sheepishly nods, he has this laid-back aura, he's an easy-going man. "Mhm, I'm a member of a book club, and today we get to read about Secret Agents. Thrilling huh?"

My smile vanished. Does he know?
