Chapter Seven:
Playing with the Mission

Sapphire

My heart was beating so fast, and I was pacing around like I was about to go insane. Sid has left but I still found myself trembling.

"Secret Agents?" I pretended to play dumb.

He came near me and stood the opposite way. "I know what you're doing, I suggest you stop it if you cherish your life so damn much." He warns.

I felt a shiver down my spine. "W-What do you mean?"

"Agent Elias, don't play this game. You might get burned when you play with fire." He sharply hisses, his whole aura completely changed.

"H-How did you-"

"I have my connections. Now if you'll excuse me." He simply says with a piercing glare. Before I could even say anything he walks out leaving me dumbfounded with wobbly legs.

He knows, I have no idea how but Isidore Levine is more than what meets the eye. What connections does this man have? And how many tricks does he have up in his sleeves?

"He knows." I murmured to myself out loud, in horror.

What do I do? How did he even find out? Should I tell the agency that someone knows about my mission? Should I just pretend that it was nothing and get to work?

Even if he knows, he still can't harm me, I carry his cousin's unborn child after all. This little seed in my stomach will protect me from danger.

I need to work to gain Beau Vega's trust. I thought.

Because once I have it, anybody's words against me won't be believable to him. He'll listen to me more than anyone. I will choose to keep playing with fire, and I won't easily get burned.

I suddenly heard the front door beep, meaning that someone came in. I stood up in surprise.

"How do you like the new home?" It was Beau, smiling with his pretty teeth, he was actually even more handsome than I thought.

"You're here." I nervously smiled.

"What's wrong? You seem..stressed?" He asks with an unsure smile.

Does he already know? Do they already have a plan to take me down?

"I'm fine, just adjusting. I also have no idea what to do with my life now." I confessed, slash, lied. I know what to do with my life, I just need his cousin out of it.

He plopped down on the sofa and stared at me, not in a menacing way, almost like he's studying my movements and features.

"Well I hope you can adjust in here just fine because this is all yours. I ought to give you a comfortable home and life since you're now carrying my baby. Also, has anyone told you that you have pretty lips?" He suddenly compliments me and I blushed like a highschool girl.

"Bino-bola mo ba ko?" Kini-kilig na ngiti ko.

"No, not at all." Mabilis na pag-tanggi niya, he was also blushing.
