Chapter Twenty-Four:
The Mission's revenge

One month later

"Eat, you need it." Sid handed me a burger from a fastfood restaurant as I was looking at Heiress from the outside of the ICU. "You've lost so much weight trying to watch her, pupunta na rin dito sila Tita mamaya, umuwi ka muna."

Mapakla akong tumawa ng mahina and then I shook my head. "Ayoko, pag nagising siya, gusto ko..gusto ko ako unang makikita niya."

"There's a reason why I'm here, Rogue. I'm here to tell you that Heiress, or Sapphire as we know her, she quit from being an agent and informed them that she failed her mission. She was going to choose you and the baby, according to the private investigator that I hired." Malumanay na sabi ni Sid.

I bit my lip, I didn't want to cry anymore. Everyone who came to the hospital to see her has already cried with me. Her Mom explained everything, she was just as shocked to find out that I was the same kid in highschool. She told me that Heiress did not want to be called Heiress after the accident, she couldn't remember anything but everytime she hears her first name she starts to get panic attacks because it's what triggers her trauma. She doesn't remember me.

I was so used to staying in the hospital now, in the past month, I've been so used to just going home to take a bath and take some things so I could bring it to the hospital. We're all waiting for Heiress to be moved to a private room where there isn't a lot of machines connected to her. It pains me everytime I have to look at her with all those tubes, she looked so lifeless and I couldn't do anything about it.

Everytime na miss na miss ko na siya, I go back to the penthouse that we once shared. Hindi ko na pina-linis ulit yung kuwarto ever since, I wanted her scent to stay in the sheets and the pillows, everytime I need to rest, that's where I go. It's where I relive the memories that we once had.

Hindi pa rin ako maka-paniwala that we met for the second time. I had her grave removed, she was still here and that helps ease my pain. But everytime I think about the fact that we almost had a child, my heart breaks, if it wasn't for our Raisin, we wouldn't see each other again.

"I'll get going, Rogue." Pagpa-paalam ni Sid.

"Doesn't Tito Isaac have a warehouse?" Biglang tanong ko.

Sid stopped on his tracks. "Yes, why?"

"Let him know that I'll need it." Tipid na sabi ko.

"For what exactly? Don't tell me..." He gave me a pointed look. "Tell me what your plan is, I'll help you handle it."

"Kuya will be here tonight, I already asked him for help." That's right, the real Beau Vega is coming.

Isidore stilled, he must be thinking, he's most likely overwhelmed. "That's dangerous."

I just smiled. "I know, but he'll be back first thing in the morning. He's just here to help."

"Did you really think this through, Rogue? Or are you just acting on impulse?" He tilted his head, Isidore could get very ill-tempered, and as my protector he sure looks like he could ravage someone with what he'd just heard.
