Hindi ako maka-hinga, kanina pa ako kinakabahan.

"This is your only chance, Agent Elias." Pormal na pag sasabi ni General Andrada.

Napa-lunok ako. I'm scared, this is my last straw, my only chance to keep my job. I wouldn't know what to do if I were to lose what I have right now.

Hindi ko na alam kung saan ako pupulutin.

"Your previous mission with Agent Monsato failed, as you may already know. I convinced the board to give you this one chance, just because I know how much you value your job." May awa sa mga mata niya nang huminto siya para bumuga ng marahas na hininga. "But you can't keep doing this to us Agent Elias, this time we really need you to excel and do your best." I could sense the frustration that he was trying to keep in.

I tried blinking away the stubborn tears around my eyes. "I understand, General Andrada."

Mabagal siyang tumango. "I sure hope you do. Don't go soft on me now, save the waterworks for when you're out of this room." I forgot, ayaw niyang nakikitang nag-papakita ang kahit sino sa amin ng kahinaan. He hated weakness more than anything.

"Are you ready for your mission, Agent Elias?" Nag taas ito ng kilay.

Napa-lunok ulit ako. "Yes, Sir." I managed to croak out with a little confidence in my voice.

Nag-tanging liwanag ang projector na may larawan at impormasiyon ng isang Lalaki. He was without a doubt — handsome. His facial features were surreal. He was the type that you'd only see in movies.

Firm jaw, protruding nose, well defined cheek-bones. May pagka-tan rin ang balat niya at dark brown ang buhok. He's mesmerizing.

Napa-awang ng bahagya ang mga labi ko. "That's my mission?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko.

The guy in the photo seemed to be harmless, as far as I know he's one of the most succesful business man who resides in the Philippines.

"You seem puzzled." General Andrada pointed out. "That man right there is Beau Vega, a well known business man all across the globe. He's extremely powerful, but on top of that he's allegedly a criminal." His voice sounded a lot more serious, that's how you know that General Andrada means business.

That man is a criminal? Paano? He looks like he can't even hurt a fly let alone commit to any sort of crime. His soft facial features says otherwise.

"But how? What did he do? Why do we need to take action instead of the Police?" Rumaragasang pag-tatanong ko.

"You can't arrest someone without enough proof Agent Elias." He told me, as if he was trying to state the obvious.

"Mr. Vega is a very private person, as expected from a lot of billionaires, but his illegal transactions definitely aren't. That's how we got the conspiracy that he may be commiting a crime, and we suspect that there's a lot more to it. But until then, the whole system is relying on you to succeed and give us all the information that we need in order to make sure that all these accusations are true and justice gets served." He stated with authority.

"But how do I do that?" Nag-tatakang tanong ko.

I wanted the ground to swallow me whole after asking that question. Way to go Sapphire, show the system how incapable you really are at your job, I thought.

"That's for you to figure out, Agent Elias. We're giving you this mission because we want to see if you're capable, to see if you deserve to have the badge that you're wearing right now." Agad naman itong tumingin sa badge na naka dikit sa uniform na suot ko.

"How close do I need to get?" Umarko ang kilay ko.

"Sometimes you must dangle your feet in the water in order to attract the Sharks." I may be an idiot but I know that line reference came from a movie. "I need you as close to the bloody shark as possible." He vaguely smiled.

I felt my body shudder. I was starting to get intimidated by this mission. Kung dati ay ang role ko sa isang misyon ay mag masid lang, ngayon ako na mismo ang lalapit sa kapahamakan.

"You have three months. Three months to give me all the information you can gather about what Beau Vega keeps as a secret. There's also this theory that they established a laboratory that makes illegal drugs but no one was able to locate it, no matter how hard we attempted to. We suspect that it's in Italy because that's where the rest of his clan lives, it's his home country after all."

"Drugs are involved?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko.

"Drug manufacturing and human trafficking are allegedly involved. So be careful, I need you to report in the headquarters safe and sound. This is potentially one of the most dangerous mission you're going to handle. I honestly don't get why the board chose this for you, but please worry about your safety more than this mission as you're executing it. Atleast promise me that, Agent Elias." Biglang napayuko at napa-buga ng hininga ang boss ko. Is he that worried about me?

"I'll be fine, General Andrada. I'm going to be able to come back alive and I won't be jobless." I even joked.

"I know." He nodded and gave a small smile, "I know you can do it, Agent Elias." He then smiled bigger.

Si Beau Vega ang natatanging pag-asa ko para makamit ko ang matagal ko nang pina-pangarap sa trabaho kong 'to. At kung kailangan gawin ko ang lahat, gagawin ko para lang masiguro na maging matagumpay ako.
