Chapter 30

"Mommy!"

She immediately opened her eyes and look at Leo who screamed in the middle of the night.

"Baby, what happened?" Masuyo at nag-aalalang  tanong niya sa anak. Pinahid niya ang tumakas na luha sa mata nito at kinarga sa kandungan niya.

Drix Leo sobbed and hugged her stomach. Binaon nito ang ulo sa kanyang tiyan at doon umiyak. Nag-aalalang hinaplos niya ang ulo ng bata.

Is he having nightmare?

Napalingon siya sa pinto ng bumukas iyon. It was Hellion, mukhang gising pa ito at galing sa library na nasa katabing silid.

"I think he's having a nightmare."

Nag-aalalang lumapit ang binata sa anak. Kinuha nito si Drix Leo pero ayaw nitong humiwalay sa kanya.

"No! Mommy...I want Mommy!" He cried.

"Sshh.. I'm here, baby. I won't go away." Masuyong bulong niya sa anak.

"B-but...the monster, Mommy. She t-took me away from you. M-mommy, I don't wanna be away from you." Sabi ng anak habang humihikbi.

Nagkatinginan sila ni Hellion agad niyang kinarga ang anak at napatayo. She carried him while swaying a little.  Nakabaon ang ulo nito sa leeg niya habang umiiyak.

"Sshh. I won't let that monster took you away from me, okay? Calm down, love."

"B-but I'm with that monster...me and D-daddy. You're left alone, Mommy. I-I don't want that."

Her heart ached on what she heard.

Napapikit siya at napahigpit ang yakap sa anak.

No... It's not a sign no.

Could it be possible that the monster is Ivy? And...she was left alone. Does it mean, she really doesn't belong in the picture?

"I won't allow anyone to take you away from me, Drix."

Napaangat ng tingin ang bata sa kanya. Her poor baby boy had so much tears on his eyes.

"R-really, Mommy?"

Ngumiti siya at hinalikan ang noo ng anak.

"Of course. Habang humihinga pa ako, walang makakakuha sa 'yo."

Ngumiti si Drix at sumandal sa balikat niya, bumalik sa pagkatulog.

Nagkatinginan sila ni Hellion pero hindi nila mabatid kung anong iniisip ng isa't-isa.

Pero isa lang ang alam niya. They're thinking about on Drix Leo's nightmare. And that's probably Ivy.

DRIX LEO won't really let her go. Mula pagkagising ay todo kapit ito sa kanya.
Hindi rin mahiwalay si Hellion sa kanila dahil nag-aalala ito kay Leo. Mukhang family bonding tuloy sila.

Nanonood sila ng TV habang kandung niya si Leo. Si Hellion ay nasa tabi rin nila ni mukhang wala sa TV ang atensyon nito.

"I love you, Mommy Clea." Drix Leo whispered from time to time.

Napangiti siya at hinaplos ang buhok ng anak.

"I love you more, baby."

"How about Daddy? Can Daddy carry you, too?" Singit ni Hellion at hinaplos ang buhok ng anak.

Drix Leo peeked at his Dad.

"You won't be with that monster?"

Hellion smiled and reached his hand for Drix.

"I won't. I'll be with you and Mommy. I'll beat the monster so that you won't scared anymore."

Dahan-dahang inabot ni Drix Leo ang kamay ng Daddy saka lumipat dito. Nasa braso naman ito ng ama.

Akmang tatayo siya para kumuha ng tubig ng pigilan siya ni Drix.

"Mommy, don't go. Sit beside daddy and hold me please?"

Muli siyang napabalik ng upo.

To make Dirx Leo more ease she lean her head on Hellion's shoulder and she hold his hand.

Kumalma naman ang bata bago unti-unting bumagsak ang talukap sa mata nito.

Hellion kissed her head before Drix Leo's eyes fully closed. Now, he's peacefully sleeping.

"His nightmare give him trauma." Mahinang usal niya.

"I'll only granted his dreams and disregard his nightmares." Mariing saad ng binata.

She sighed.

"Hindi mo mapipigilan ang tinakdang mangyari---"

"Walang imposible para kay Leo, Clea. If I were to fight tge fate, I'll gladly do it." Agad na putol ng binata.

Bumuntong hininga na lang siya pero hindi pa rin panatag.

Hellion is easy to say that because he is Drix Leo's father in any way. By blood, by heart and mind. How about her? Kahit ibuhos niya ang buong buhay niya, kahit pagbaliktarin pa ang mundo...it won't change the fact that she's not his biological mother. She's just a surrogate mother.

The negative thoughts are weakening her but she won't let that negativity overcome her system. She needs to be brave for Drix Leo.

Drix Leo loves me. I'm holding into that.

"Clea, stop thinking so much. I can hear it."

"Sorry."

Hellion sighed.

"We will work this thing between us. Calm down--"

"Sex won't make things work, Hellion. Hindi lang puro talik ang bumubuo sa isang relasyon." Agad na kontra niya ng mahina para hindi marinig ni Drix.

Hellion's jaw clenched.

"Do you think because of sex, I want to make this thing between us work? Then let's not do it. Let's date until we fall in love with each other."

"What if you won't fall in love with me?" Mahinang tanong niya.

"That's the time I'll say that impossible really exist."

Napaingos siya at tinampal sa dibdib ang binata.

Bahagya siyang lumayo rito pero hinapit siya nito pabalik.

He groaned. "Don't go away. If someone took you away, I'll really transform into monster."

She just pouted to supress her smile.

She's really a scammer when she said that she's fine if they're just gonna treat each other casually.

"WHERE are you?" Nakasimangot na tanong ni Hellion sa kabilang linya.

She chuckled and park the car.

"Grocery. Ubos na ang ingredients for pancakes, iyon pa naman tanging alam mo na lutuin."

"Why didn't you brought me with you?"

"Walang bantay kay Drix. Sige na, bye."

"Bye, ketchup."

"Hmm, bye, butter."

Itinago na niya ang cellphone at pumasok sa supermarket. She immediately headed where the ingredients is when someone bumped her.

"Ouch." She winced in pain when her butt touches the ground.

"Don't winced on that pain as you fall. There's more greater downfall more than that."

Her eyes widen when she heard that voice. Dumoble ang pintig sa kanyang dibdib at nag-angat siya sa salarin na bumangga sa kanya.

That evil smirk on her lips...

"You seems enjoying on the things that are mine. Time to take it away from you, dear cousin." Says the woman while smirking named Iviana Scotz.

"Ivy..."

"The one and only."
