Chapter 25

"I have decided," sabi ko nang maka-pasok ako sa loob ng sasakyan ni Dominic. Since siya ang nag-aya sa akin, I told him that he needed to pick me up sa bahay namin at kailangan din niya akong ibalik. They wanted to meet Dominic and they were supposed to, but mayroon silang meeting na kailangang puntahan. That made Mama agree to let me watch the game with Dominic.

"Decided what?" Dominic asked while he began to drive. I watched as he began to maneuver the steering wheel. It's amazing how he drives. I did not know if it was the right word to use to describe him driving, but the word cool came into mind—most especially when he's steering the wheel.

"Where you'll treat me food," I said and then told him kung saan kami kakain at na pwede ko sa kanyang isend iyong link ng menu online para maka-pili na siya. I found it time-efficient to decide beforehand kaysa sa mismong restaurant ka mamimili.

"What are my options?"

"Just read the menu."

"But I'm driving."

"Hindi ka naman bulag."

"But I am your best friend."

I asked and Dominic nodded, so I proceeded to tell him what his food options were. There were girls who asked to have a picture with Dominic and he graciously agreed. He's quite charming. No wonder naging artista siya dati.

"Okay," I replied.

I brought my iPad with me and just wrote script ideas while Dominic was being so rowdy beside me. I concluded na maingay talaga ang mga basketball players pagdating sa basketball—even Austin Archangel shouts when he's watching games. It's different for them because they're actually passionate about basketball where I couldn't care less about it.

"I wish I'm playing, too," sabi ni Dominic.

I occasionally look at the scoreboard—Brent was always at least 10 points ahead.

"I know... but I want to play, too."

"Next game," I replied.

"Yeah... As your best friend, will you cheer for me?"

"You do know that I am from SCA?"

He nodded. "Yeah, but technically speaking, you're not enrolled. You're an out of school youth."

Natahimik ako. He's right. "Okay," I said. "I will cheer kapag naka-shoot ka," sabi ko dahil siya naman ang best friend ko at hindi iyong buong team nila.

Nanalo iyong Brent. My stomach was already grumbling nang maka-balik kami sa sasakyan.

"I'm sorry I'm so popular," he said. "But I have granola bars, if that interests you."

"What flavor?" I asked.
