A/N: words: 885. An angsty fic comes soon folks. Actually two, kinda. Hehehehehe. ANYWAY, this was so cute to write jfjhksgk. So yeah, enjoy!
Sam's eyes fluttered open, and found Bucky still snoring softly, his face buried in the crook of Sam's neck. Sam smiled at the sight in front of him and checked the time. 8:16. Sam sighed. They have some press conference today, and they should be getting up. But with Bucky, it won't be that easy. Sam planted a soft kiss to Bucky's temple. "Buck, we gotta wake up." Sam murmured in his ear, and he heard Bucky make a noise of annoyance. "Hey." Bucky mumbled sleepily, and Sam grinned lazily. "Hi." Sam said. Bucky wrapped his arms around Sam's waist, and Sam sighed. "Sweetheart, we have a press conference in about 2 hours." Sam informed him. Bucky shrugged. "Can't we reschedule?' Bucky asked groggily. Sam rolled his eyes. "We are not rescheduling because you aren't a morning person." Sam said, and Bucky huffed.
Bucky looked up at him sweetly, then wincing when the sun hits his eyes. He promptly shut his eyes. "It's too bright." Bucky stated, and Sam scoffed. "Well, that is what happens when the sun rises." Sam quipped, and Bucky grumbled. "Shut up." Bucky mumbled, slowly opening his eyes. Once his eyes adjusted to the light, he took in how Sam's face looked in the sunlight. His dark skin glowed, and his golden brown eyes glimmered, a lazy smile still on his lips. He looked beautiful, angelic almost, and he smiled softly. "You're pretty." Bucky mumbled sleepily, and Sam blushed, shaking his head softly. "So are you." Sam replied, and it was Bucky's turn to blush, a smile still on his face. "Your pretty face still has to get up." Sam told him, and Bucky huffed in annoyance.
Sam made his way to get up, and Bucky crossed his arms. Once Sam was fully out of bed, Bucky grabbed his hand and pulled him back down on the bed. He grinned mischievously, and Sam landed with a huff, face buried in the pillow. Bucky began laughing, and Sam joined in soon after. Their laughter filled the room, Sam turning to face Bucky. "I... hate... you" Sam said between his laughter. Bucky grinned at him, shoulders shaking with laughter. "No, you love me." Bucky said, and kissed Sam on the forehead. Bucky wrapped Sam up in his arms, grinning all the while.
This prompted Sarah to walk through the door. "Hello, some of us sleep." she said sarcastically, and Sam rolled his eyes. "Sorry, Sarah." Bucky said sincerely. Sam, on the other hand, scoffed, and turned to her. "You ever heard of knocking?" he said snarkily, and Sarah rolled her eyes. "Ever heard of keeping it down?" she quipped back, eyebrows raised. "Leave." was all Sam said, and he heard the door close, turning back to Bucky.
"C'mon, we really need to get up." Sam said, more seriously. Bucky grumbled. "It's online, can't you just say the WiFi's down or something?" Bucky suggested, half serious. Sam hummed, genuinely considering that. "It's not your worst idea." Sam agreed, and Bucky smirked. "So, I'm hearing that we're staying in bed all day." Bucky said, and Sam scoffed. "That is not what I said." Sam retorted. Bucky shrugged, making a face. "That's what it sounded like." Sam rolled his eyes, and Bucky grinned. Bucky batted his eyelashes sweetly, and Sam almost went through with it, before shaking his head. "This is manipulation." Sam said seriously, and Bucky giggled. The man giggled. Sam got butterflies in his stomach and had to bite back a smile. "Is it working?" Bucky asked sweetly, and Sam rolled his eyes. "No!" Sam replied, a laugh dancing in his voice.
Bucky shook his head. "No, it's working." Bucky retorted, and Sam sighed. "And besides," Bucky added, "you're in my arms, therefore, you're not leaving." he said it like it was simple, and Sam smiled. Neither of them really knew what that statement meant, but it went a lot deeper than not going on a call. As long as Bucky had Sam, safe in his arms, then everything'll be ok. It has to be, for their sake. "Fair." Sam agreed, surprisingly. Bucky smiled, and planted a kiss on Sam's temple, pulling him even closer. Sam sighed in defeat, making Bucky smile wider.
They did end up accidentally falling asleep in each other's arms, which was nice. Sam woke up around 10, and took one look at the sleeping super solider holding him and cancelled. The phone call woke Bucky up, and he about to complain, but when he heard Sam say the words "It looks like the Wifi is down, so I can't attend the meeting, so sorry about that." his face slipped into a grin. Sam actually did it, and Bucky would never let him get away with it. "I can't believe you did it." Bucky said once Sam hung up, and Sam scoffed. "I hate you." Sam said, but the smile on his lips said otherwise. Bucky shook his head. "Love you too, dollface." Bucky grinned down at Sam, who was blushing. "So, we get to stay in bed all day?" Bucky asked, and Sam chuckled softly. "Yes" Sam said with a sigh, and Bucky's grin turned into a smirk. "Fantastic" Bucky said, and Sam pressed his head against his boyfriend's chest, listening to his heartbeat. It truly was fantastic.
