Over the week, Zack craved me more and more like I was a drug that he couldn’t get high enough from. Always needing more. I was tempted to leave him in Heaven, but I knew he’d be beyond pissed if I did that. Instead we packed up some clothes and a few weapons and joined the rest of my revised squad.
“You pansies ready?” I grinned as Av opened the portal. “This is it.”
“Treble,” Eros said softly. “Stop saying that. I’m already torn up about leaving my precious baby girl here.”
“She’ll be fine,” I shrugged and clapped his back. “She’s in Sin’s care.”
“That does not make me feel better,” he said under his breath. “I gotta stay. I can’t leave her.”
I held onto his shirt as he pulled away, and I dragged him back to my side. “We’re going. I need you there with me, Eros, okay? Game face.”
He took a wavering breath and nodded slowly. “You know you’re going to have to shove me through that portal, right? And then pin me down until it shuts?”
“Can do,” Taylor joined the god’s side, trailing his hand down the god’s back before he smacked his butt. “You weren’t talking about having Treble pin you down, were you?”
“I was, but not in that sense,” Eros frowned at his demon. “Course, I doubt Treble could pin me down anyway.”
“Hey!”
“Well, I’ve been working out,” he shrugged. “More so than usual.”
“About damned time,” Zack chuckled.
Taylor rolled his eyes, “Make fun all you want. You know how amazing he looks when he gets done working out.”
“Now I’m curious,” I muttered, earning a sharp glare from Zack. “Joke.”
“Not obvious enough,” he said lowly. “You wouldn’t have to specify if you just wouldn’t say them to begin with.”
“I wouldn’t have to specify if you wouldn’t lose your shit when I don’t screw you every five minutes,” I said under my breath. I turned to Eros. “Was he ever this lusty when you were with him?”
“Yeah, he got that way a few times,” Eros nodded. “Damn near made me shoot myself I felt so damned guilty.” I raised an eyebrow. “He can’t get enough. And he expects more. Always.”
“I’m standing right here,” he rolled his eyes.
“And I’m standing next to you. Good to know that we’ve established our locations,” I smarted off, making Lionel crack up. I got a chuckle out of Taylor, and Eros was biting back a grin. Gen gave me a look that told me to stop there if I wanted to live. “Seriously, Zack. It’s insane how through-the-roof your lust is.”
He was quiet and I hugged his waist tightly, batting my eyelashes at him innocently. Finally, he hugged me back and pressed a kiss into my forehead. “I love you, T.”
“I love you, too, Zack,” I breathed in the scent of his skin before we started filing through the portal. Taylor shoved Eros through after Nel volunteered to go first. Course, Taylor kind of slipped into the portal when shoving him, but at least he’d be able to pin Eros down the second they both got through.
“No more jokes like that,” Zack said quietly as everyone else went through. We were the last two left. “They terrify me.”
“I made jokes like that before my coma. You know that. Nothing has changed. I still love you,” I listed off the same things I said each time he told me I couldn’t say anything about anyone else–only him. “Why are you so lusty? That terrifies me.”
