Chp 15

Natasha and Wanda sit down on both sides of y/n. "You don't have to do this, you know." Nat whispers to y/n, trying to give her another out.

"I know. It's fine, you guys need my powers to get in." Y/n states with little emotion.

"How about once we get in you just come back to the jet while we search the base." Wanda suggests.

"You know I won't do that. I can help out." Y/n says not letting emotion through.

"Alright we are 10 minutes out." Steve says, causing everyone to look at him. "We don't know if this is an active base or not so prepare and use caution as if it is. Y/n you will get us in then we will break into teams. Natasha, Wanda, y/n and tony will go together to search the labs and the rest of us will clear the base. Understood?" Steve says eyeing the group.

Everyone nods as they begin to start getting ready. Nat notices y/n's leg won't stop bouncing with nerves. Nat places her hand on the leg and y/n stops bouncing it looking at Nat. "Sorry, nervous tick." Y/n gets out.

"Hey, you have nothing to be nervous about." Nat says taking y/n hand in hers and giving it a squeeze. "We've got you."

Y/n nods back trying to play it cool.

The quinjet quickly lands and the team quickly heads to the edge of the base. Staying hidden in the tree line they overlook it.

"It looks deserted." Peter gets out only to be shushed by Tony.

"I don't know, something seems odd about this one." Natasha says, observing the lay out of the base.

"I agree, we've shut down hundreds of these bases over the years, none of them looked like this." Steve adds.

"It's because it's on a giant power source." Y/n states as if it's obvious, causing everyone to look at her confused. "Also it isn't deserted, that flag on the right." Y/n points out to it. "It's an old hydra flag, they haven't used those since 2015. It's been recently added though, seeing how clean it is. Suggesting someone wants us to think hydra is here but whoever is here isn't them."

Everyone looks at y/n a bit shocked. "What?" Y/n asks, confused.

"Okay back to that energy source, explain?" Tony asks before other people start asking.

"Power source." Y/n correct him.

"Yeah same thing, so what is it?" Tony asks.

"No it's not, this is a power source but they can't use it without the energy." Y/n states obviously.

"Yes I know the difference. So how do they harness the energy for this power source." Tony asks.

"Me."

Everyone stares silently at y/n unsure of what to say or do. Panic crosses both Wanda and Natasha's faces.

"I don't like the sound of this. How about we go back to Fury and request more intel." Wanda says, not wanting to risk it.

"I agree with Wanda. Let's get out of here." Clint says.

"Guys, something is about to..." Peter starts before he gets shot with a tranquilizer dropping him to the ground.

"Everyone get down." Tony says, quickly flying up trying to identify where it came from.

Suddenly the group of avengers is surrounded by agents in hydra uniforms. Wanda and Natasha quickly pull y/n between them as the rest of the avengers group around them. Protecting y/n in the middle of them.

"Package is here." One of them says through their comms.

Y/n looks up to Natasha and Wanda, both can see the look of panic in her face. Natasha starts to open her mouth but before she can she feels a poke in her shoulder and the world goes dark.
