⏸️Play - Oh my angel [Chai]
Third person's pov
The pain in his beating heart overweighed the pain he felt all over his body. Rain drops drowning the sound of sorrows and hiding the painful tears. Only he could break Yoongi like this.
Shoes heavy on the pavement, holding those legs on one place. But he knew his legs would give up on him very soon. It did.
Crying. Shedding tears on his knee, that was all the soulless shell could do. He let the tears paint his cheeks as it wished.
He didn't think what they had would dissipate into thin air like nothing.
Hoseok broke Yoongi.
✾✾✾
Yoongi vividly remembers that morning. It was normal, he had woken up, had breakfast with his parents and helped his mom with the chores and everything was normal. And like every other Sunday, he had walked to Hoseok's home. Once he reached there, he knocked on the door.
No response.
After knocking few more times, he had used the spare key he had and entered the house.
Like every normal day, his aunt--Hoseok's mom--was resting.
"Hey aunty," he smiled softly as he seated himself next to Mrs Jung, who reflected his smile from where she was lying on the bed.
"Where's Hobi?" he stroked her caramel locks soothingly, feeling the sick lady get relaxed under his hand.
It's been around four months or so since Mrs Jung got bed ridden, the sudden death of her husband had put her in this state. And ever since, Hoseok has been taking care of her while handling three to four part time jobs at the same time.
Mr and Mrs Min were very kind enough to offer to pay Hoseok's academic fees and he had accepted that with gratitude because he had hospital bills to take care of and was sure that he couldn't be handling school fees as well.
"He went to the park to take a walk," the lady's gruff voice replied. "I'm going to nap for a while, you go get him?" she smiled tiredly, her eyes drooping against her own will.
Nodding, Yoongi locked the doors and trudged down the streets, making his way to the park in their neighborhood. The one they had played in their childhood days.
Walking through the streets, the elder heard his phone dinging, indicating he had a message from Hoseok--he had set different ringtones for his parents, Hoseok and Mrs Jung for emergency purposes.
Pausing, he fished his phone from his pant pockets.
'Don't come to my home today.'
The message read leaving Yoongi confused. First, Hoseok would never say something like this. Second, it has always been 'our homes' and never 'mine' or 'yours'.
With a heavy frown etched on his pale facial features, he kept walking. He had noticed Hoseok being a little off in the school for the past days, but he had brushed it off thinking that it was because his crush--Kim Seokjin--turned him down.
Entering the park, he could see his best friend's lone figure sat on a swing, slowly moving back and forth in it, his expression contoured to something near a mix of sadness and guilt.
The elder silently made his way and sat by Hoseok on the other empty swing.
"I told you not to come," the elder could clearly hear the annoyance in the brunette's tone.
"Unfortunately I got that text while I reached park," the latter shrugged.
"Since you got the text, why don't you leave now?"
"And why should I?" Yoongi was frowning so much. Hoseok would never act this rude with him. He was closed off, sure, but not a rude asshole. But right now he is being that.
"Because I'm asking you to? Why can't you just leave me alone for once?" the brunette scoffed, his chest heaving slightly heavier breaths in anger.
"Hoba, what's wrong? What's the probl--"
"You," Hoseok had cut him off mid sentence, the elder left with his mouth agape.
"Wh-What?" he didn't understand. Did Hoseok say he was the problem? Or maybe he had heard it wrong.
Yeah, that must be it. Hoseok would never say that, Yoongi just misheard it. Yeah, that's it.
"I said you're my problem, Yoongi," the latter spat. "Leave me alone, will you?"
"Hob--"
"No. This is getting so annoying, Yoongi. I'm being good to you only because your parents helps mine financially, but you won't let me alone?! So fucking annoying," the younger groaned, rolling his eyes clearly showing his annoyance.
"You don't mean it," the latter replied softly as he felt his eyes pickle with tears, "We'll talk later. Yeah, we can talk when you are calm,"
"I mean it, Yoongi. You're really nice and all but you get on my nerves. Just because we're friends doesn't mean I have to tell you everything and for that, we are not even friends," his voice was now a little softer, but the harshness was still in there.
"What do you mean by we are not friends? We--We are friends Hoba. We have---" he could feel tears cascading down his cheeks without his will, a soft pang in his chest. No, Hoseok doesn't mean it. Of course, he didn't.
"We're not, Yoongi. Someone like you never meant anything to me. I'm sorry but I only endured with for the financial support your parents had provided," Hoseok stood up from the swing, ready to walk away when he felt Yoongi holding onto his arms, tightly.
"Don't make yourself look pathetic, Gi," with that he yanked his hand and walked away, leaving Yoongi behind.
And Yoongi stood there in the park, rain soaking him as he watched his best friend walk away. He watched his only comfort walk away, and what he had said has etched itself deep in his mind and heart.
He meant nothing to Hoseok?
A few bills meant more than him?
He couldn't believe that. It wasn't like that, Hoseok didn't mean anything. Yeah, maybe he needed some time that's all. Maybe, Yoongi was being so much, yeah that's it. His Hobi didn't mean that.
✾✾✾
He hadn't seen Hoseok for a week now, all he had heard about Hoseok was the rumors going around their school and those pictures of him.
Hoseok wooing rich men for their money, they had captioned it. And those pictures were proofs of that.
Yoongi felt disgusted.
