~Back Story~

I tried to fit the grammar of the ages within these flashbacks.

Flashback:

*4th grade*

Both me and Jordan sat down in the playground. Right now it was lunch recess, so some classes were playing and others were eating.

"Look Rowan, that boy Rodriguez is a bad person. We have to get him back for everything he's done." Explained Jordan.

"So what are we going to do?" I asked.

"Go grab his food tray and throw it away."

I nodded in response, I stood up from sitting criss cross apple sauce and ran over to him. He held onto his tan cardboard tray and I shoved it out of his hands.

"What the heck?!" He yelped. I threw it in the trashcan beside me without hesitation, I wanted to be more dramatic so I shoved him and he fell backwards.

I hated the new seating arrangement the teacher gave us. I had to sit next to Rodriguez. I knew he didn't like sitting next to me either. Right after the bell rang, letting us know it was time for recess, I grabbed Rodriguez's Yankees hat.

"Give that back! My dad gave that to me!" He defended.

"No!" I spat, "You don't even have a dad!" I held the brim of the hat mockingly. He tried to grab it out of my hands, but I threw it to my brother Jordan. I laughed and so did my brother. Rodriguez gave up and he walked away. I could tell he was crying which made it all more funnier.

Flashback:

*7th grade*

"You piece of shit!" My dad yelled, slapping me across the face. Tears streaming down my face in embarrassment. I knew Rodriguez was across the street watching this all happen.

I was so disappointed in my brother. He told my dad that I wanted to play baseball with him. Yet knowing my dad, he doesn't think girls should do anything a man can.

"Hey, I saw what happened with your dad the other day." Rodriguez sat down next to me during lunch time. I was by myself in the cafeteria.

"Fuck off Rodriguez!" I yelled, "You're so pathetic and annoying!" I stood up and grabbed his milk carton off his food tray. I broke it right above his head causing milk to fall onto him.

My brother and his friend group entered the cafeteria right when that happened and they bursted out in laughter.

Flashback:

*8th grade*

"I think I like Rodriguez." I rubbed my forehead as I told my two best friends, Charlotte and Jacky.

"You mean that boy you always torment?" Asked Charlotte.

"Yes."

"Why don't you try being nice to him then?" Jacky frowned, "I mean that's all he's done to you, he deserves better."

"It's not that easy Jacky, If I start being nice to him then my brother is going to get mad and tell my dad some bullshit to get me in trouble." I explained.
