I was finally back home in bed. I was woken up by an excited Charlotte and a Jacky being...off again. "Tell us what happened last night!"

I wasn't awake yet, "What?" I sat up slowly.

"With Benny." Jacky spat with attitude.

"Oh, um...we went swimming and made out again. He also asked me to be his girlfriend, but I cut him off and asked to take it slow."

"Why would you do that?" Charlotte was shocked.

"I honestly don't think I want to focus on a relationship." I explained, "Plus, if Jordan ever found out, he'd kill both me and Benny."

Charlotte rolled her eyes, "Whatever Rowan."

It was now the first day of school, I was no where near thrilled for my sophomore year. I put on the most basic outfit I could, I wasn't trying to draw a whole lot of attention to myself.

I grabbed my backpack and headed out the house before my brother could see me

I grabbed my backpack and headed out the house before my brother could see me. He'd probably force me to walk to school with him.

I ironically saw Benny across the street, so of course I ran over to him. "Hey!" I yelled.

"Hey." He smiled.

"I'm walking to school with you, whether you like it or not." I teased. He chucked.

Once we arrived to school together, I noticed the amount of eyes that were directed to me. I guess it was weird to everyone that I was with Rodriguez and not being a bitch to him for once.

We headed straight for the cafeteria, which is where everybody had to line up to get their schedules. Bertram and DeNunez came up to us, they were always in the same grade as me. "Hey Benny man." Said Bertram.

Both Bertram and DeNunez became aware of my presence at the same time. "Ya' know, it's not the fact you're a girl Phillips." DeNunez stated full of confidence.

"What?" I was really confused.

He rolled his eyes, "We don't dislike you or not want you to play with us just because you're a girl." He explained, "It's because you'd always torment Benny, sometimes us too whenever the time was right."

I sighed, "I'm sorry guys, I'm different now though."

"It don't matter." Bertram bitched, "Does sorry really fix everything you did?"

"No." I quietly said, feeling defeated.

Benny stood up for me again, "You guys, she's seriously different now. Whether you forgive her or not, at least forget about it."

"Benny stop defending me." I piped up, "What I did wasn't okay. None the less."

Both DeNunez and Bertram rolled their eyes.

Lunch time came around, I sat with Benny and his friends. Throughout the school day, whispers would be said about me here and there. People would constantly give me weird looks and just over all stare at me. I just ignored it all.

Somebody pulled my hair roughly from behind, "What the fuck!" I yelled turning around to see my brother Jordan, "What do you want Jordan?" I tried to act tough even though I was full of fear. My brother had the power to destroy me socially and mentally.

"Why the hell are you hanging out with these rejects?!"

I sighed, looking at each of them then back at Jordan. "Who I hang out with isn't any of your business."

"It technically is, and I could make it dad's business too." He folded his arms.

My heart skipped a beat. I looked over at the table my brother usually sits at to see all his friends, along with Jacky and Charlotte. I mean I did only meet the two of them because of my brother, but they're nothing like him.

I sighed and stood up, I walked to their table without a word to Benny or his friends.

I could hear my brother say, "That's what I thought."

I plopped down in the empty space next to Charlotte, "Why'd you leave?" She asked me.

"He threatened to get my dad involved." I quietly responded.
