At this point, Charlotte was my only friend. I appreciate her so much. I wish I could be a great friend to her, but I'm barely on the path of being a better person.

"It's not fair man." I threw myself onto my bed next to Charlotte, "When you really think about it, it kinda is all my fault."

"How?" She questioned.

"I mean, I'm the one who got up from the table just because Jordan threatened to get our dad involved. I explained, "I'm the one who's too pussy to face my father."

"That's not your fault Rowan." She stated, "Who wouldn't be scared of their practically abusive father?"

"I wouldn't say abusive." I sat up.

"I would." She shrugged, "Plus with Jacky, that isn't your fault either. She's the one who was fake the entire time."

"Yeah, and if I hadn't gotten up, she wouldn't have revealed her true self. Because now she's practically throwing herself at Benny."

"That's still her fault, not yours. If only Benny knew how your father is, he'd get it. Otherwise, it's not your fault and it isn't his either. It's just a misunderstanding."

I sighed, "I guess I should just give up then."

"What why?!"

"Because Charlotte, there's no way in hell I'll ever tell Benny how my dad is. So, therefore I should just go back to how things were. Without the bullying."

Charlotte sighed, "Look, you never know. Maybe one day he'll come around. But for now, try to focus on the things that won't bring you down." I nodded, she was right. She stood up from the bed, "Let's go get some pizza! On me."

A smile was brought upon my face. I got up from the bed and we left the house. Walking toward the downtown center to our favorite pizza parlor.

He went inside and I saw both Jacky & Benny at a table across from each other. Jacky had a chocolate shake in front of her, she was playing with the straw as she had her flirty smile on.

"Charlotte, let's go eat somewhere else."

"What? Why?" She stood right next to me and saw what I was looking at, "Oh my god. I am so sick of this." She grabbed my wrist and went over to their table, "Hey Jacky, we haven't talked in a while." Charlotte had her fake bitchy smile on.

"Oh hi." Jacky's smile immediately got wiped off. I stood there awkwardly, both Benny and I just looked at each other for a split second then looked away.

"It's funny seeing you here, especially with Rodriguez." Charlotte exclaimed, she turned to Benny, "It's also funny how you downgrade over a simple misunderstanding. You must be real desperate to hang out with someone as fake as her."

I loved how Charlotte stood up for me, but god damn.

Jacky scoffed, "You act like Rowan is any less fake. I mean I wouldn't switch up on Benny like she did."

"Rowan didn't switch up!" Spat Charlotte, "You just can't put the pieces together and figure out why she left." Charlotte was getting ready to leave, "Idiots." She mumbled to herself, "Let's go Rowan."

Charlotte and I walked out of the pizza parlor. "Thanks for sticking up for me." I thanked her.

"Don't mention it, you're my best friend. You deserve better than them."
