Chapter 13 - Forced

"Ang galing talaga ng best friend ko! Sanaol magaling sa math." Yumakap sakin si Sofia pagbalik namin sa classroom dahil nandoon gamit namin.

Bumati naman ang iba kong kaklase habang isa-isa silang lumabas ng room. It's already 3:30 in the afternoon and natapos ang competition at 2:30pm.

"Ilang beses mo na sinabi yan, Sof." Panloloko ko dito.

"Hayaan mo na ako. Sadyang proud lang talaga ako sayo." I smiled and hugged her with teary eyes.

After that moment, naghiwalay na kami pagkalabas ng school. I went straight to my house and changed to casual clothes.

It's already 5 in the afternoon and balak kong itreat ng dinner si Miss Andrea for her birthday. Nagready na ako for the day nang maalala kong hindi ko pa pala siya nasasabihan about sa surprise ko. So, I texted her.

To: My Andrea

I'll fetch you there in an hour. I have a surprise:)

I looked at the bouquet of flowers na pinabili ko kay Sofia kanina. She gave me those after I handed my trophy to Miss Andrea. Then, I received a text message.

From: My Andrea

What are you planning to do? 🙄

Ayy kahit sa text may pairap pa. I just texted her back with a smiley face and I continued to fix myself as well as my things. Pero konti lang naman ang dadalhin ko.

When I'm done fixing my things, I looked at my watch and it's already 5:30. So, I headed to the door and went to my car. Before I started the car, I made sure that I didn't forget anything.

While I am driving, I decided to play some music to calm myself. I don't know why am I nervous. I'm just treating her for dinner, so why? Maybe because, this is the first time I am doing this. Napahawak na lang ako sa buhok ko nang marealize ko ang aking mga ginagawa.

Dati, hindi ko naman 'to ginagawa sa mga taong nagugustuhan ko. But now, here I am.

When I reached her house, I spotted two cars in front. So lumabas ako ng kotse to know kung sino ung nasa loob kasama ni Miss Andrea. Nang sumilip ako, I saw two people who I think are in the late 40s. So I assumed that they are her parents. Kahit gusto kong pumasok, hindi na ako tumuloy. Kase from the face of her parents, I saw happiness. I'm sure miss na miss nila ang daughter nila. I heard kase na ang parents niya ay may ari ng isang kilalang hotel sa city. Kaya siguro hindi nila na kasama ang kanilang anak for many years. But why there are two cars? Impossible naman na tig-isa pa sila ng car kung sa isang bahay lang naman sila pupunta. Then, I saw an unfamiliar face who is smiling to her. Then, bigla siyang inakbayan.

It hurts. I don't know why. Is it because I'm jealous? I can feel my eyes getting wet. Kaya bago pa sila tumulo, I went back to my car, started it and drived back home. I can feel my tears, falling down my cheeks. Locked myself in my room and cried all night. Sumabay pa talaga ang panahon sa nararamdaman ko. It's raining so hard. I chuckled when I realized na para akong nasa movie. Yung tipong umiiyak ka tapos sasabay pa sayo ang pagbuhos ng ulan.

I didn't even want to eat dinner. Wala akong gana. I felt like my body is going to shatter. I cried and cried like wala ng bukas. Then, namalayan ko na lang that I fell asleep.

Miss Andrea's POV

After the competition, I already went home. I was about to go inside then I heard my phone ding. It was Angela, what is she up to? Then binuksan ko ung front door when I heard a knock. I saw Mom and Dad. Why are they here? Dapat nasa work pa sila.

"Mom, Dad, what are you doing here? Diba may work pa kayo?". I asked them with a surprise expression.

"We have good news that's why we're here.". Mom said, as the door opened. And guess what? Daniel went in.

"Why are you here? ". I asked as I look at him with an envelope in his hands. He gave it to me.

Kinuha ko yun with confusion. What's this? When I opened it, I just saw one word that made me question my parents. Marriage.

I first look at Daniel, who is smiling at me and waiting for my answer. He also placed his arm around me. I feel uncomfortable kaya I moved my shoulders but he didn't remove his arm. Then, I looked at my parents, who are smiling. It seems na they thought it is a good idea.

"Andrea, our company had a problem. Daniel's parents is also one of the famous companies and that is only the solution we have. " Dad said.

"What? No! I'll never marry him! Even though it's only the solution to your problem. I'll never do it! Think of anything but this!" I shouted at them.

My dad also shouted at me, which made me hurt. It's our first time seeing each other after a very long time tapos ganito pa ang mangyayari. They also begged me to do it. There's a part of me saying na I need to do it to make my parents happy.

Then, silence is all over the room. Then, I found myself nodding to my parents. Iniisip ko na lang na ginawa ko yun para mapasaya ang parents ko. Nagulat na lang ako nang bigla nila akong yakapin. I never felt them for how many years.

After that meet, I talked to Daniel. I told him na huwag na siyang pupunta sa school whenever he wants to see me. Sa bahay na lang. I told him that kahit wala akong feelings sa kanya, obviously. I only like one person. And he agreed. He also told me na gusto niya akong makilala pa para naman daw hindi kami awkward after the wedding.

When he got home, I already went to bed because I'm so exhausted. Then, I remembered something that made me sad and mad at myself. Why didn't she showed herself awhile ago?

I cried until I fell asleep. When I woke up, the alarm clock just went off. I remembered that it's already Saturday. So I fix myself and made my way to the kitchen to get some breakfast.

After eating breakfast, I spent my time watching some movies on Netflix. Bigla ko na lang namalayan ang oras. It's already 12:00pm and I haven't eaten lunch yet. So I decided to order food because I'm to lazy to cook.

*doorbell*

As the first bell stopped, I hurriedly went to the door, thinking it's my food. But it's not who I'm expecting. I don't know what to feel. Happy, sad, relieved. I am feeling different emotions. One word from her made me know what I'm feeling.

"Hi."
