It has been three days since Hana and Rindou's last encounter. Hana blankly stared at the piece of candy placed in the middle of her palm. "Oi, Kohana. Sit this one out, 'kay?", Mitsuya exclaimed, snapping the baffled girl from her thoughts. Toman was about to brawl with another gang that claimed they were better later in the evening.
"But, I can watch!.. right?", Hana pushed, making Mikey laugh and Mitsuya roll his eyes. "And who do you think will believe you when you say that you're just going to sit and watch, huh?", Mitsuya retorted, glaring at the girl who gave her puppy eyes. "Hey! Give that back, you ass!", Hana yelled as Baji snatched the candy from her hands. Baji lifted it up as he laughed at the petite girl who tried to take it back.
"Ouch! That's a foul, woman!", Baji screamed, caressing his abdomen as it received a quick punch from Hana. "But, Hana. As much as I want to kick asses with you, Mitsuya's right. You should sit this one out. You can go all out once your modelling stuff is finished", Mikey smiled, patting Hana's head. "Pffft fine. Do you guys want ramen right after? You can crash at my place", Hana offered since her mother was going to be home late again, meaning she didn't have any company.
"Is auntie staying out late again?", Draken asked, having Emma braid his hair. "Yup, so you guys can hang around so I have a bit of company", Hana pouted. "Ramen at Hana's place it is!", Baji yelled, standing up from his seat. "Class starts soon, Baji-san. We should get going", Chifuyu uttered, glancing at the wall clock. "Oh, right. See you guys at the brawl later!", Baji yelled as waved good bye.
It was 8 in the evening and Hana was lying on the floor in front of the door, waiting for her friends to enter since they were accustomed to not knock. "What's taking them so long? I'm hungry!", she yelped, patting her growling belly. "Maybe I should just cook the ramen ahead of time", she thought to herself, skipping towards the kitchen.
"STUPID!", she yelled, slapping both of her cheeks. She opened the cupboard, only to reveal that they've run out of ramen. She was wearing a muscle tee and pajama shorts but she didn't bother to change into warmer clothing since she knew that the guys will yell at her if she hasn't bought the ramen. She quickly slipped on shoes and wore a jacket to protect her exposed skin from the cold wind that post-autumn brought.
She begged for any miracle to occur that would lengthen the guys' journey as she sprinted towards the nearest grocery store. Upon entering, she bumped into a random person's shoulder but she was too frantic to pay attention.
"Sorry!", she yelled, not paying the person any glances. She ran up to the instant noodles section, stuffing her basket with the ramen they normally consumed. "Maybe I should get a few drinks and snacks too", she whispered as she stared at the enticing food and beverages that sit in front of her.
"AH! Whatever!", she whisper screamed as she gave in to the demon whispering in her ear, dumping random snacks and drinks in her basket. She quickly ran up to the cashier, plopping her basket on the counter. "Kohana! Unusual to see you at this hour", the cashier, Yoru-san, claimed, punching the items she'd purchased. "Ah, it turns out we had no more ramen left so I just did some quick grocery shopping", she sheepishly smiled as she rubbed the back of head.
"Will you be paying with cash or a card?", Yoru-san asked, tilting the screen towards Hana to let her see the bill. "Card!", she replied, reaching into her jacket's pocket. "Eh?", her face went pale when she couldn't feel anything against her hand.
"Ah! I must've left it at home!", she realized, giving herself a face palm. "Yoru-san.. I hate to be this person but can I go home real quick and get my wallet? I promise I'll be quick!", she yelled, raising her right hand.
"You know I'd do any favor for you, doll. But unfortunately, there are people waiting in line. Do you want me to write it under your mom's name? She asked me to not let you pay anyways", Yoru-san suggested, making Hana's knees buckle. She didn't want to use her mother's name to clean her mess, so she wanted to avoid using it to luxury as much as possible.
"I'll pay. How much is it?", a familiar voice called out, stealing Hana's attention. Though the man beside her wore a bucket hat to hide his face, there was no doubt with his scent and voice that it was Rindou Haitani. "¥6,400, sir. Will you be paying w--"
"Cash", Rindou replied, cutting Yoru-san off as he placed the exact amount on the counter. Hana just stared at him as they waited for the receipt to finish printing. "Come again!~", the lady yelled as Rindou grabbed the numerous bags with one hand, the other grabbing Hana's wrist.
"Oi! You suddenly show up and pay for my groceries? What's up with you?", Hana asked as she let herself get pulled around by Rindou. Rindou halted, looking at the girl with his piercing, lavender eyes. "I didn't know that people say 'thank you' differently these days, huh", he sarcastically uttered, drowning Hana in guilt. "Hmph. I'm sorry... and thanks", she whispered, looking away.
"Tch, whatever. Here", Rindou claimed as he reached the bags to her. "Thanks again!", she yelled as she gave out a warm smile.
"Oi! Kohana! Where were you?!", Baji's loud voice engulfed the empty street. Hana quickly turned around. "I just bought ramen!", she yelled back, raising the plastic bags in her hands. "Do you want s--?", her words discontinued as she saw no one behind her. In a blink of an eye, the man was gone.
"I swear he is so weird; showing up at the most random time and then leaving me hanging", Hana pouted. "Hurry up! We're starving!", Baji yelled as he reached Hana, dragging her back home.
"What did you buy? You bought so much!", Mikey exclaimed in awe as he happily stared at the mountain of food thag Hana brought home. "Eh? I thought you liked that strawberry candy more than this?", Mitsuya asked, lifting up a bag of candy from the bunch.
Hana's eyes widened as her jaw dropped, but was immediately changed into a smile, followed by an amused laugh. "Oi, is she crazy?", Pah-chin asked as he stuffed his mouth with chips. They all watched their friend laugh like a lunatic, joining her soon after.
"You never cease to surprise me, do you?", Hana thought to herself, staring at the bag of caramel candy.
