Music blasted within their unit as streaks of colorful party lights danced around the dim space. Howls and hoots of common friends and comrades could be heard, paired with the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke that tickled everyone's nostrils as they danced along with the ticking time.
Ran held a party for Rindou. He felt bad and took the blame with what happened between them and Hana's mother, but Rindou understood that his brother was not at fault since he was unaware of their relations. Although the party was for Rindou, he stayed inside his room; locked inside with a friend, Aoi.
She sighed for the hundredth time as she watched Rindou drown himself in silence, his nose stuck in a book. "Come on, Rin. You hate reading! Let's get out there and party for fuck's sake," Aoi grunted, grabbing the book from Rindou's grasp.
Aoi, a childhood friend of both Ran and Rindou. The Haitani brothers ruled Roppongi, but if both of them were to be taken down, which seemed impossible, Aoi would probably take their place. Growing up, getting stronger, and taking over Roppongi, Aoi was there, patiently waiting by the wings. But if there was one thing she was impatient with, that was Rindou's denseness. Years. She waited and stayed for years, but Rindou never looked her way, neither an attempt nor even an accident. Looking left, right, up, and down, but never at her.
"Rin, she practically blamed you, questioned you, doubted you. Isn't that enough reason to just let go and move on? The fact that she doubted you even for a fucking millisecond is more than enough for me to say that she isn't worth it," she convinced, playing with his disheveled locks.
"That's easy for you to say because you don't know anything about her. Aoi, you're my friend, and I value you, but please.. for the love of god, don't say anything ill about her. I'm drawing the line there--"
"But didn't she cross the line when she blamed you?! It's damn easy to see that she doesn't care about you the way you do with her. You know damn well that I'll support you whatever you want, but I can't let you continue this." Lies. She couldn't even look at him straight in the eyes as the words she spoke dug a hole in her heart. How could she support the man she loved for years stupidly infatuate himself with another?
She stood up from his bed, walking over to a pile of clothes that caught her eye. "Are these hers? You should throw these away," she suggested, but Rindou wasn't in a mood for her attitude. "Don't you touch those, Aoi. I'll just return those when we're fine."
"When you're fine?? Fucking when?! She's been ignoring you for less than a week! She locked you out, she locked everyone out, Rin. Open your damn eyes," she yelled in frustration, balling her fists as she watched his expression that shows he didn't give a fuck. "I'm going to go shower. Make sure that your heads all cool by the time I finish because Aoi, I don't have time and I am not in the mood to handle your tantrums," he muttered before walking into the bathroom, earning a pestered eyeroll from the female.

All she did was watch the falling leaves from her window for hours and hours on end. Hugging her knees to keep herself from the cold air that blasted from the air conditioner, she sat in complete and utter silence. The silence that she hated, despised.
