12 - Alone

This chapter depicts the fear of being alone, storms, and slight panic.

He sighs as he slowly sits up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes as he stretches out his back and arms.

He then drags himself out of bed, not bothering to check his phone as he walks over to his closet. Grabbing his work clothes that he managed to get washed the previous night before he fully crashed.

He then goes to the bathroom, taking a quick shower that wakes him up a little bit. Then dries off and gets dressed, doing his morning routine.

Once he's got his phone and shoes on he heads out for work, still deciding to walk as he knows he's not awake to drive yet.

He's not gonna lie... it's a nice day out but it seems pretty boring. Even while he's scrolling through Twitter it's boring.

He groans, he knew this would be a long day.

All of a sudden it was dark and cold. When he opened his eyes he didn't see Karl anymore. And the field was now grey with a cloudy sky.

"What the fuck..?"

Nick gets up, feeling his lips with his finger tips as they now felt lonely. They were about to kiss.

He blushes as he hugs himself, trying to keep himself warm from the breeze. Thunder rumbling in the distance.

"Shit."

A gust of wind blows harshly against his body, a whimper escaping him as he realizes he's all alone.

But then something catches his eye.

He looks over to a bright glowing blue flower. It reminds him of Alex.

He smiles as he tears up, trying to run over to the flower. Which magically transforms into a silhouette of his lover, opening his arms to Nick.

As he wraps his arms around the boy he disappears, making Nick trip and fall over onto the ground.

The tears start to pour, soft sobs escaping his mouth as he lays on the ground. He hugs himself as the sky starts to pour rain onto him.

He's never felt so alone.

"Nick...?"

He continues sobbing, trying to listen to the voice but it's hard since it's slightly muffled.

"Nick? Hey- wake up!"

Wake up? Was he asleep? None of that was real? He wasn't going to kiss Karl?

"Nick! Wake up!"

He can feel his body being shaken awake by the smaller man, sniffles coming from him as his tear filled eyes slowly flutter open.
