20 - Epilogue

He hums a sweet tune as he wipes down the counters of the now closed ice cream shop. Making sure that it is spotless.

Once he manages to get it all cleaned up he throws the rag over his shoulder and smiles down at his good work.

Today was the final day of the shop being open this time of year until it reopens in the spring. Due to the Soot family liking to vacation the holidays in their home country. England.

Karl walks towards the back room as he begins taking off his apron, hanging it on his named hook. He then goes over to the sink and places the dirty rag beside it.

"Have a good break Karl!"

He looks up to see Niki waving to him a goodbye. Her smile is bright as she gets to go home and spend the holidays with her loved ones.

"You too!"

He reciprocates the wave as he smiles at her. Watching her now exit the room. Karl gently sighs to himself as he finishes cleaning up the shop, now being the last one there.

Once he has everything cleaned up he grabs his phone from his pocket. Going to his contacts and clicking one of his beloved's numbers.

The phone almost gets picked immediately.

"Is that him!?"

"Yes! Calm your ass down!"

"You know I can't do that when I get to cuddle my baby for the next few weeks!"

Karl can't help but giggle at the bickering couple. Ever since Alex found out that Karl is going to be home for the holidays he's been very excited.

"Sorry about him- do you need to be picked up?"

Karl nods to Nick's question, but then realizes he can't see him, giggling softly to himself.

"Mhm, I'm all done here!"

"CAN I COME?"

"Not until you calm down! Jesus he's like a kid wanting to open Christmas presents early-"

"IM NOT A KID!"

Karl can't help but laugh at Alex's response. Knowing that he doesn't like to be called a kid or short. For obvious reasons.

"Alright, we'll be there in a few."

"Okay! Love you!"

"Love you too-"

"WE LOVE YOU KARLOS!!!"

Karl smiles wide as he giggles at the both of them, hanging up and deciding to wait for them at the front.

As he sits down on the front steps of the shop he thinks about his two idiots. He loves them to pieces but man they are so dumb sometimes. But he can admit he has his moments too.

It's been 5 months since they all officially got together and it still feels like they all kissed for the first time yesterday. But Karl has never been happier, and he hopes he can say the same for the other two.
