6 - Wanting Him

Alex

This chapter depicts someone being dragged underwater, repetition of thoughts, and a panic attack.

"If you're comfortable, can you tell me who?"

He glanced away from the taller as he though about it. He's already accepted him but it's still kind of hard to say everything at once.

"I-I'm not sure if I wanna say just yet.. I don't even know if he likes guys so-"

"That's okay, just please tell me before you start saying stuff to him."

Nick gently kisses his forehead as he holds him close. Rubbing his sides softly, making Alex grow tired. He gently flutters his eyes shut as he drifts off into a peaceful sleep.

Alex opens his eyes to find he's on a beach, hand-in-hand with Nick as they are running through the sand.

"Karl!"

He hears Nick shout at someone, turning his attention to the person. He immediately knows who it is.

Karl from the ice cream shop.

He's sitting on a towel in just swim trunks, Alex noticing they're all in swimwear. He looks so gorgeous in this sunlight.

He looks over to them as they call his name, a big smile spreading across his face as he sees the two boys approaching.

"Let's go swimming!"

Nick says as he smiles happy, their hands still intertwined. Alex then extends his hand down for Karl to take.

"Yeah the water's great! Come on!"

Alex heard himself say, but feels like he actually didn't say it. He then feels a hand in his and pulls the sitting boy up, noticing the rings all both their fingers. Looking over at Nick's he has the same.

When he has both of their hands securely in his hold he takes them towards the sea. Laugher fills the air as the all fall into the water, splashing and having fun with each other.

But soon it dies down as Karl stops what he's doing and looks at the two boys, looking at them confused.

"Karl? Is everything okay?"

"W..who are you guys?"

Nick and Alex look at each other, approaching Karl cautiously.

"We're your fiancés! How do you.."

Alex jokes until he sees he's dead serious, in this case frowning as he tries to reach for his other lover. But isn't in time as he immediately gets pulled down into the water.

The couple quickly back up, Alex looking at where Karl was in shock. Hearing Nick beside him screaming for their other half.

Where did he go? How did he not know who we are? How did we get here? Where did we go wrong?

Were all going through Alex's mind as his breath began to speed up and his heart began pumping faster.

Why don't I remember how we got here? Where did we come from? When did we start? When did we get engaged? Why can't I remember?

Alex?

Hey alex, wake up!

Why can't I remember?

Alex! Wake up hun!

Alex gasps for air as his eyes shoot open, coughing as he tries to breathe at the same time. Tears filling his eyes as they fall down his face.

"Breathe hun, breathe. I'm right here."

Alex feels a hand on his head, petting his hair softly as he shakes and sobs into the other's shoulder. Trying to regain his breathing pattern.

Nick grabs onto the other's hand gently, planting it on his chest.

"Follow my breathing... 1... 2.... 3..."

He breathes in deep and slow. Alex tries his best to follow, slowly getting the hang of it. Once he gets his breathing pattern back now he is just crying into the other's shoulder.

Nick draws calming circles into his back, speaking softly to him in attempt to help him.

Soon Alex does clam down and just holds onto his lover tightly, which he does the same as he kisses his head.

"...can you tell me?"

Alex gently shakes his head at the question, just wanting the other here with them so badly.

Nick nods his head as he rests his head against the other's. Gently kissing it as he keeps drawing small circles into his back.

Once Alex was finally calm enough he grabbed his phone and immediately texted Karl. Hoping he responded. Nick left the room to go grab himself a snack.

Hey, are you awake?

Karl <3
Hey! Yes I am heading to work :)

Alex
Oh okay! That's cool :]

Karl <3
:D sooooo did you wanna talk?

Alex
Actually yeah, if that's okay!

Karl <3
Of course!

Alex
First of all, how are you?

Karl <3
Good, weather is nice out today!

Alex
Ah I see! Hey, do you think I could come over when you're on your break?

Karl <3
Sure! :D my break is at 4:30!

Alex
Alright see you then!

Alex sighs softly as he puts his phone down, Nick entering the room.

"You feeling better?"

"Yes, thank you so much."

"Of course hun."

Nick leans down and pecks Alex's lips, which he would've wanted to lasted longer, before laying next to him. Alex immediately cuddles his side as Nick wraps an arm around him as he turns on the tv in their bedroom.

Alex smiles at the thought of going to see Karl.
