8 - Worry

Ever since Alex, Nick, and Karl decided to go hang out together the smaller has been nothing but a nervous wreck.

He's been fidgeting a lot and out of focus, when Nick approaches him to get cuddles Alex flinches but luckily melts back into his touch.

It's been worrying the taller greatly and he has tried multiple times to know why he is so nervous but Alex his stubborn and keeps telling Nick he's fine and it's just excitement.

But Nick can tell it's something else, he always has. He's gained a sense of when Alex is lying and is going through something. Because for some reason he wants to deal with it by himself even though having his boyfriend there with him would make it so much better.

So he tries one more time, knowing he is so close to cracking him open.

Nick enters their bedroom, trying to find Alex which he does successfully! He smiles but notices the smaller shivering in a balled up position. He quickly goes over to him and crawls onto the bed over to him.

"Hey... are you awake..? Can I touch you..?"

He asks softly to him, not wanting to startle him. Alex gently nods to both of the questions, his body leaning towards Nick for him to take.

He gladly does as he scoops the smaller into his arms and holds him in his lap, Alex instantly leaning into his cuddle but stays in this position.

"Alex... hun... can you look up at me?"

He keeps his soft and hushed tone when talking to him, knowing he's in a sensitive state right now. He doesn't know why, he just knows.

Alex slowly and unconfidently lifts his head to meet with his partner's gaze. Nick knew it.

He has tears stains of his cheeks and his eyes are glossy. He looks like he's about to burst into tears.

"Hey hun..... oh look at you..."

He gently cups his face with one hand as the other gently rests around Alex's waist, gently kissing his other cheek as he runs his thumb along his cheek bone.

"Can you tell me what happened..?"

Alex glances away as he thinks about it, sighing. He's been really worried about one thing about the date and he hopes it will go well.

"I... I just... r-really want you to like Karl.."

Nick frowns as he looks at his boyfriend slightly confused, removing his hand from his face so he can hold him with both arms.

"Hun... I'm sure I'll like Karl.. but why are you so worked up about that..?"

"I..."

Alex begins to tear up again, feeling bad for having a hard time telling him about his feelings. He does, really! But it's just.. he's scared.
