Songs for this chapter: Christmas at Hogwarts - Harry Potter

~*-*~ ~*-*~

The weather kept getting colder and eventually winter was upon them. Christmas cheer was in the air, as well as snow, since lots of it was falling from the sky. On the last day of school before the break, the group of friends were standing in the hallway waiting to get let into science class.

Ryan watched in amusement as Liam pressed his face against the glass of the window across the hall, excited about the growing snowbanks outside.

"Are you guys doing anything during the break?" Sammie asked them.

"I'll probably be spending most of my time at Liam's place." said Ryan, twiddling his snowflake print fedora.

"Oh?"

"Yeah, my family doesn't really do Christmas. Liam's family does though. They go big every year and are happy to have me around."

"My family is going on vacation. We're going to California this year, and I get to go to sk8 con." said Cory proudly.

Theodore spoke up, practically ignoring Cory, "We should get together sometime over the break."

Cory shot him an offended look.

"Ya that sounds great!" Liam exclaimed. "You guys should see the decorations we have planned for our house this year."

Their conversation was cut short when the teacher arrived, out of breath and covered in snow to unlock the door and begin class.

They did end up getting together over the Christmas break, and had a mini gift exchange at the base of Liam's enormous tree. Theodore even dressed Buddy in a sweater and brought him over to hang out. Liam got Ryan a Christmas themed fedora, which he wore for the next two weeks. Quinton got Theodore a very nice scarf, and Sammie got Quinton a BTS poster she knew they had their eyes on.

Theodore's gift to her, an adorable cat dragon plushie, was surprisingly thoughtful, but Sammie tried not to think too much of it. She did, however, put her new friend on her shelf, as it stared into her soul and watched her sleep every night. Sammie found its gaze comforting. Other gifts were exchanged, hot chocolate and christmas cookies were consumed and snowball wars were fought before their get together was concluded.

Once Christmas break was over, the group spent the next two weeks finishing up work before their final exams for the semester. This included completing the big group project for science. It was much easier for them to work together now that they were all acquainted and things ran pretty smoothly.

They divided up the remaining tasks and got the whole thing done a couple days before the due date. In the end they even ended up with one of the highest marks in the class! They were quite proud of themselves. The second semester passed smoothly now that they were all friends. Not much ended up happening, and before they knew it, the school year was over. They parted ways for the summer with promises to keep in touch and hang out often.
