I'm Kate

It was a bit after I kicked Sawyers ass, when I saw Kate walking over to me. We hadn't officially met each other yet. "Hi, I didn't get to introduce myself, I'm Kate". She put out her hand as she spoke. I took it. "Nice to meet you Kate, I'm Lottie".

She seemed nice but I felt like something was off with her but maybe it was just that I was still pissed with Sawyer. Kate looked at my hands, my knuckles were a bit red. "How, did you punch him so well?". I looked up at her "What do you mean?" she responded, "well you easily could have knocked him out". I looked up at her with a smile.

"Let's just say I hate men at times". Kate smiled back at me, I had a feeling, we would be good friends. "I just know we're compatible". I looked up and smiled, a good friend indeed. She turned back to me before speaking again.

"Me and Sayid are going to try and find a signal on the transceiver, I think you should come, because well it looks like you can kick ass and your basically a doctor". She was giving me more credit than reality but I wouldn't mind going. I looked back up at her, "Sure, I'd love to come".

She smiled, "Great, meet me and Sayid in 20?".
I looked back up, "You got it". Kate smiled then walked away. I had a gut feeling, like she too could kick ass, so I had to say yes and plus I'd get to know her better.

I was packing some stuff up when I saw Jack walking up to me. "Hey, how are your hands". He took them practically into his and looked at my ring. "You should ask Sawyers face". Both of us laughed. "Are you married?". I turned back, he was smiling. "No, I'm in the middle of a divorce and well wearing a ring is the key to not get hit on.". I smiled back him. He looked from the ring and back to me.

"So technically, your single". I looked back up at him, "Technically". I started to walk away. Smiling back at Jack. I turned around to go meet Kate and Sayid when I felt a pair of eyes on me, and it was nobody other than Sawyer. I just kept walking, I could tell Sawyer was already jealous of the relationship I had with Jack but I acted like I didn't because it makes it worse for him but in my opinion gives me an advantage and it's pretty funny as well.

I caught up to Sayid and Kate. "Lottie, I'm happy you could join us, especially after what you did today". I smiled back at Sayid, "My pleasure". We started to walk away when I saw Shannon and Boone walking up. Me and Kate looked at each other before putting our attention to them.

"I'd like to come with you". Boone caught up to her. "No, she's not". Shannon looked back at him, "The hell, I'm not". They bickered and finally Shannon spoke to Kate. "I'm going with you". I almost laughed at Sayids facial expression. Kate replied, "I'm not so sure, that's a good idea".

Shannon was irritating at this point, "What are you, like 2 years older than me. I saw Charlie walk up, he seemed very sweet. Shannon turned to him, "Your going aren't you?". Charlie replied, "Yep, are you?". Shannon looked back at Kate, "Yep". Charlie looked at her, "Yep, I'm definitely going". I looked at Kate.

I finally spoke up. "Look everybody can come, but get off your asses, and start moving, because we're leaving.". Shannon looked mad, at me, Boone and Kate. Me, Sayid and Kate walked away but I could hear Charlie still.
"You couldn't tell from that, but I heard she's really nice."

This was going to be a long hike.
