Kate looked back up at me, in which I kneeled down to her level. She got up and I examined the bear. Boone spoke up, "That can't be a polar bear". Sayid and Kate spoke up immediately. "It's a polar bear".

We were all confused Shannon spoke. "Polar bears don't usually live in the jungle". Charlie looked up at her, "Spot on". I spoke up, "Polar bears, don't like near this far south". Boone looked at him, "This one does".

Both me and Sawyer spoke at the same time, "Did". I looked up at him and continued to speak, "It did". I saw Kate look at Sawyer, "Where did that come from". I assumed she was talking about the gun. Sawyer looked back at her. "Probably bear village, how the hell do I know?".

She spoke again, "Not the bear, the gun". Everyone turned around. "I got it off one of the bodies". Sayid looked up, "one of the bodies?".
Sawyer turned to him, "Yeah, one of the bodies". I tried my best to act scared and like I didn't really care for guns.

"People don't carry guns on planes". I said, Sawyer looked back at me. "They do if, they're a US Marshall, blondie, there was one on the plane". Kate looked up at him, more worried then before. I took note of that. "How do you know that?". He turned to her "I saw a guy with an ankle holster so I took the gun, though it might come in handy and guess what I just shot a bear!".

"So why do you think he's a Marshall". I saw Sawyer grab something, "Cause, he had a clip on badge, I took that too, thought it was cool".
Sayid turned to him, "I know who you are, your the prisoner!". Sawyer looked back at him, great this again, "I'm the what?". Sayid replied to him.

"You found a gun on a US Marshal, yes I believe you did, you knew where it was because you were the one he was bringing back to the states. Those hands cuffs were on you, that's how you knew there was a gun". Sawyer looked at him, "Piss off!". Sayid responded, "That's who you are, you sick son of a bitch". Sawyer looked back at him, "Fine I'm the criminal, your the terrorist, we can all play a part. Who do you wanna be?". I looked at Kate, who was reaching for Sawyers gun, I decided to help her out by distracting him.

"Should I get a ruler?". Sawyer turned to me and I saw Kate, take his gun. Everyone was immediately alarmed. Kate spoke, "Does anybody, know how to use a gun?". Charlie replied, "I think you just pull the trigger". Sayid turned to him, "Don't use the gun". Kate looked back at him. "I want to take it apart". Sayid began to explain how to take it apart.

I watched her take it apart, she made it seem like she had never used one before but something told me that she had handled one before. She took it apart and gave the rounds to Sayid whiles handing the empty gun back to Sawyer. Sayid turned to me, "Are you comfortable hanging onto these?". I looked up at him, "Uh, sure". He handed me the rounds. I put them in my bag.

I saw Sawyer grab Kates arm but I couldn't hear their discussion. I saw Kate walk away after and gave myself a mental note to keep my eye on her. We started to walk again when Sayid walked up to me. "Can I ask you something?". Sayid was very kind and respectful. "Sure". He turned back to me.

"When Sawyer shot off the gun, everyone else was running with us but not you and from what Sawyers said, you didn't seem to alarmed by the shots, might I ask why?". I hadn't thought about this question, so I improvised. "I'm a farm kid, rifles and pistols were practically a part of my life for a time". Sayid turned back to me, "For a time?".

I looked up at him, "Ya, once I got a bit older and truly realized what harm could be done with them, I just stopped using them on the farm, I haven't touched a gun in I'd say about 15 years." Sayid took note of my quick response. "I thought it might be something like that, your good with blood, used to use guns and has some skill at defence, those are qualities I've seen in farm kids".

I looked up at him, "Are you a teacher?". He turned back to me, "No, I was in the military". I looked up at him with my lies again. "No way, my brother was in the navy, what about you". He stopped and so did I, he looked directly at me, "The Republican Guard". He walked away.

Great, officially I was practically going to be working overtime now.
