It was light at night or I at least thought it was, it was dark after all. I'm not the most sound sleeper after all it was part of my job not to be. I heard the dog, who was named Vincent I found out. I heard him bark, multiple times.

I sat up and sat outside my tent when I saw Sawyer with a flashlight followed by Jack and a few others. Sawyer stopped and extended his hand for me to grab. "Cmon blondie, we're playing Scobby-doo". I took his hand and he pulled me up.

I found Jack in the crowd and stood beside him. "What's going on?". He looked at me. "I think there's something in the fuselage". I turned to the fuselage and looked but it was pitch black except for the blinks of white coming from the flash lights being carried.

We walked around the end of the fuselage to find an animal, probably feeding on dead bodies or left over food from carts on the plane. "Alright I'm shedding some light on this thing". Sawyer pointed the light at the animal and it turned, it started to move towards up.

"Run! Everyone outta here!". I heard Jack call as the animal inched closer. I ran to the side of the fuselage and I saw wire sticking out. The electrical was fried so it couldn't shock me. I grabbed the wire and pulled myself up onto part of the fuselage. I found a dented part in the metal and slowly sat down, it was like a little hiding spot.

I watched people run and everything was smaller was up here it felt calming in a way. I saw them leave and grabbed the wire and climbed back down. I walked over to Jack, he looked over me to check for injuries or maybe he was just checking me out but I wasn't complaining. I heard Charlie. "What the bloody hell was that?".

He was beside me and looked at me in which I just shrugged. I saw a man a bald older man in front of us. "Boars". He said. I guessed he was referring to the animals that just terrorized parts of our camp and the fuselages.

I was with Jack, helping him with Charlie's wound and by helping him, I mean letting Charlie squeeze my hand to take away the pain.
"Those boars we're looking to feed". He referred to how the boars where eating them. "We have to get rid of the bodies". Charlie looked at him. "Bury them? There's a whole bunch in there.

Sayid spoke up. "More then 20 and digging will be difficult without shovels". I looked at him and responded. "Not bury, We have to burn them". Everyone looked at me and Jack in which he nodded in agreement. Kate looked at me. "They're people". Jack spoke up before I could respond. "I know they're people Kate."

Sayid looked at him. "Burning their remains, they deserve better than that". Jack responded. "Better then what? Being eaten my wild animals and any bodies we bury aren't going to say buried for long. Look i know this seems harsh, but that fuselage in the sun. It's not about what they deserve, they're gone, and... we're not."

Sayid protested. "What you say might me true but for us to decide how these people are laid to rest, it's not right. No regard for their wishes, their religions". I turned to Sayid. "Sayid, I don't want to have to do that but it's the safest and really the only good option we have, if we bury them the boars will find them, they'll know where to look and what's in there. They'll come every night for food and it's just not safe". I looked at Jack.

"Look I'm not happy about it either, but we landed 1000 miles of course, it's been 4 days and there looking for us in the wrong place. No ones come. Tomorrow morning we need everyone to start gathering up wood, dried bush. We'll turn that fuselage into a furnace."

Jack left the tent and and I followed him. He looked up at me. His facial expression was different it was more sad, emotional. "Thanks for having my back in there". I smiled. "That's what nurses are for trusting the doctor". He had tears in his eyes.

I looked up at him. "You really do put on a strong face don't you". He turned to me and smiled through his tears like I did with Sawyer. "Ya I guess I do". He looked at me and still with tears in his eyes walked closer to me. "Thank you, the person I looked up to my whole life never believed in me but we crash land here and in 4 days, I have more trust in you then I ever did him and I have a feeling you might feel the same". I walked closer to him and pulled him in for a well deserved hug. He practically melted in my arms. After a couple seconds we disconnected. He looked at me as I walked away.

I knew that he wasn't the only one making sure I got back to my tent safely and I knew exactly who it was.
