Peter's pov

I'm sitting in an orphanage, May is dead, I'm an orphan, I have no living relatives

I may only be 11 but I will probably be here until I'm 18, at least that's what the other kids my age say

I'm in that weird limbo between ages where I'm not old enough to live alone and too old that people won't adopt me

I have no friends in New York. my best friend Harry Osborn moved last year because his dad, the CEO of Oscorp, sent him to a boarding school in Europe. he never said where though

The kids here aren't that nice but I can still go to school, at least there there's a girl who seems nice enough to me, her name is Mary Jane. I like her but really only as a friend

One year later

I'm walking home from MJs house, over the last year we've gotten closer but I still only see her as a friend and she feels the same about me

I'm walking through the rough part of town, well I guess the whole place is the rough part

The orphanage I was in was in Manhattan but two months ago I got moved to a foster home in Hells Kitchen

I hear a person scream and then it gets muffled, I run around the corner but try stay out of sight

I hide behind a bin and see a man with a balaclava over his face pointing a gun at a woman and a teenage boy

"Hey, wait!" I say and walk out from behind the bin slowly with my hands up "don't shoot them"

I say and then panic 'what the fuck am I doing'

"What are you gonna do about it, punk" the man says in a deep voice and moves the gun to point it at me

I pointedly look at the mother and son who run off down the alley

The man turns to see them run but end up pulling the trigger and I feel something fly into my arm, it didn't come out the other side and I don't think that's good

"Shit" I whisper and see the man panic, I fall to the ground and crawl against the wall, I want to keep fighting but what more can I do

A figure lands between me and the gun man, is that daredevil? That's so cool

He fights the man knocking him out then turns to look at me, well not look at me but faces my direction

"You ok kid?" He asks and I nod "did you just nod?" He asks and I cringe

"Shit, yeah" I wince "I got shot though" i whisper "I feel dizzy"

Then everything goes black

Time skip

I wake up in an unfamiliar open plan apartment, where am I? What happened?

"Oh, kid, you're awake" I see a blind man say coming from the bedroom, I was sleeping on a sofa in the living room
