On your 15th birthday a mark will appear on your arm that let's you know who your soulmate is

Most people found their soulmates straight away but for me it's different

When I turned 15 I got a tattoo just like everyone else but while most people got guitars, basketball or something else that it's pretty obvious where to find your soulmate

I got a spider-man mask

I tried for that whole year to go to spider-man fan club meetings and talked to all those avengers stans in my school but eventually I gave up

A part of me was and is still kind of hoping that it'll be the real spider-man but as if I'll ever meet him from Rose Hill

Now I'm 17, two years since I got the mark

I'm walking home from school listening to AC/DC through my headphones when I get a text on my phone

Tony Stark? We haven't spoke since I was 12, sure he texts me now and then but usually just on holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving

Just wanted to let you know there is an opening in our internship programme here

You'd stay at the tower for the rest of the school year

You could even go to school at midtown tech, the best smart people high school in queens

One month later

Peters pov

"Bye Aunt May" I shout as I race out of our second floor apartment, not missing the regular "give me rent" from the landlord who doesn't even check to see who he's shouting it at

I run towards the bus but of course the bus driver drives off right when I get to the door

It would be much easier anyway to just swing to school

I see Ned standing at Betty's locker with his arm around her when I get there

Ned has a notebook and pen as his tattoo and Betty has a lightsaber so it's kinda obvious they're soulmates

Mj has a robot as hers so a lot of people thought I was her soulmate but once they saw mine was nothing like Mj they gave up on that

I have a potato gun as mine I don't know what that means but I've grown to love that tattoo, it's the only thing that connects me to my soulmate
