Your POV
The tension was high after heated challenging words against two idiots with their sword skills signed up for a duel at the coliseum. I couldn't say now because no is for cowards who never wanted to take a challenge. Since the crowded commotion is over, the people start going back to their own business.
My blood was hot the moment that I got angry at someone for hurting my friend. My heart and mind couldn't let that go. "Jesus, Y/n! Calm down! At least we all know that we would be cowards at the moment where we end up running away." Marferd said with a center-minded voice.
"But we're not running away just for all of this that we've worked on being official adventurers for so long! I already saw how Y/n beat up that guy!" Aquin spoke out of how serious that she wanted to win because of me.
"That might be true at first, but Caros must be trained to counter against Y/n's wind affinity. I'm afraid that there might be a chance that he would end up losing with no improvement." Heiya explains how the change could benefit someone's weakness into defensive measures. "Y/n, is there any improvement that you did?"
"Well..." I explain to them about the one element and name that I learned without a standard revelation. "I was with Freiyn and Naeva during the commission where I have to get the cat back to Welnet. That tyrant was this power that could overcome us. I was knocked out at first, but then I hear a voice from someone that I didn't see. It was so dark to see where I'm in a black space. I woke up and seeing that tyrant attacking us while Naeva was healing me. I think fast while without knowing that I use the star skill and it struck his weakness because it was corrupted by darkness. The darkness that where demons use to turn people into mutant monsters." I explain to them.
"Wow, was it that powerful than the wind?" Marferd asks me.
"Well, it just saved us. But I feel that my breathing stamina needs to be exerted to fuel my sword skill for it." I reply.
"So it's like you used that meter burn for that. It's stronger than standard." Heiya comments. "However, I'm aware that Caros is more confident that he improved his swordsmanship with his martial arts. He strikes you back without his sword. Can you think of how you overcome that?" She asks me. Now that I think about it, I haven't done anything about it. "I see..."
"But would training help?" Aquin asks. We would have, but my body felt tired after going through commissions. "What?! That badly!?"
"I'm just doing it to rank up and get money for it. That's what jobs are for!" I exclaim.
"Y/n, I'm afraid that you're not ready to take this level. You could be losing by default even with beginner skills that you've spent with them alone. The only way we could do is to wish you the best of luck." Heiya replies with an unfortunate tone. Right now, there are now revelations that could help me solve this crisis. I couldn't even get stronger with unlocking every skill and talent beforehand.
"Does that mean Y/n can't win by himself anymore?" Baren asks.
"Don't say that, you'll discourage him too soon!" Marferd scolds him.
"It's ok, Marferd. He's right because I am too powerless as a common human being. I haven't changed at all ever since I've been here." I agree with Baren. It's no game that I could restart and get stronger before going back here again. This is the real world. My body doesn't feel stronger at all, it's all just burning off dynamic tensions and getting money for a job and paying for food and any survival materials. It's like I haven't changed at all.
"Hey guys, did F/n missed something?" F/n floats in with her snack, the BBQ skewered beef, chicken, onion, chopped bell pepper, and mushroom. She seems worried about the negative tensions that we are upset about. "Huh? What's going on, you guys? Did something happen?" She asks us. We start explaining that I accepted Caros challenge to a duel. Everyone must have known this by now. "Wow! How strong can Y/n get since then?"
