Chapter 9: Your First Trial

I prepared my swordsmanship for a skillful connection than just being the strongest. What I learned so far is combo enemies with sword skills, multi-hitting skills, and meter burn. I also try training my body to surpass my personal best of my current power. Thanks to Heiya training with me, I'm ready. We got to the area. I look around, seeing people who are participating in this trial, trying to be worthy as adventurers, knights, or even citizens as general for the kingdom of Alibreta. Advadu's gang is here as well but not for their leader who got banished after being a crime against his father. As if I would see knights who are introducing to us while they brought a surprise for all of us.

A woman with her brown long hair with only her frontal crown, blue eyes, and even her blue armor while having a white dress under it. Having her blue garter belt stockings, she has her armored boots. She starts to introduce herself while we are ready, facing the challenges she created for the worthy people. "People of this village and those who are participating to take this challenge. As you may have been aware, I am Yuvae Faei Cyrias, heir and hero of Alibreta. As you may have not to know my current standing, I am currently the grandmaster of Alibreta." Yuvae Faei Cyrias...! I heard about her from the book of stories that talks about her previous adventure 20 years back. No wonder that I could see her like this. But that's not going to be easy for me just because she's a hero.

The objective that she is telling us, she wants us to pass the trial by going into the labyrinth and heading towards the goal that could teleport us back to the place where she waits for our return. She tries to warn us about monsters that are going to be present on this test. What she wanted is teamwork and the courage of facing challenges as proof for passing the trial and the rules she wants us all to follow. "And know that there will be no illegal gadgets in this trial. It shall be a defeat for your success and worthy to the Alibreta. If that's the case, come to me and I shall confiscate them. You will have them back after you succeed in your trial." A silver-purple hair with her headgear. Purple eyes while she wears her armor and her dress. Dark leggings while having her armored boots. She must be Ange Vesan, Yuvae's bodyguard.

"Hey, you should give your slate to them since you're new here," Heiya whispers to me.

"Yeah, we don't want to get caught because of you." Aquin follows up her sentence. I nod because I knew that this slate from the cave was not from Alibreta.

Yuvae's POV

I look around, seeing people discussing if they have their illegal weapons or any kind of items that are against the rules of this trial. A boy with his H/c hair and E/c eyes came up to Ange first while having his hunter vest and pants while wearing his battle boots. "Here, just for my friends and for myself. Just following your rules though," He nervously gave his slate to her. He goes back to his friends while everyone else continues discussing if they need to give out their illegal items to us.

After we lead them to start their trial, Ange came back for me for a report. "Ange, do you need anything?" I ask her.

"Yes," Ange responds to me. "This slate that the person named Y/n L/n gave it to me. I ask him where he got it. Then he told me that he was asleep in the cave as he got it after he woke up. Lady Yuvae, do you know that it was suspicious?"

"Yes," I answered. "This slate...the only person that I gave it to someone was..."

"Uh..." Ave appeared out of nowhere while she nervously trying to approach us. She is a citizen of Alibreta, but to think that she would try to meet with us here.

"When did you set foot in this village?" Ange asks her. Ave explained to us about her quest being completed and she was trying to head back. She met Y/n and his friends too. Talk about a useless girl for a lucky visit.
