Your POV
At first in this event of destroying the diamond crystal ore in one shot, I thought it was impossible. Normally, a few strikes are needed with a pickaxe or claymore if possible. In the end, with an adjustable skill, it should work. Two effects in one skill with a possible chance. Can that work, helpful for Baren?
"What are you even writing?" F/n stares at my journal. I was recording and managed to get a better view of the three skills samples. But what was that exactly, two effects on one? Can that work for us?
"It's a revelation. I need it for later since we don't know what will happen in our future when facing other challenges." I reply to her.
"Will that work for Baren? You wanted to help him, right?" Ave questions me. I was planning to do that. But what is missing? How can any of us do it? That's why I wanted to go ask Cathe for that skill. I wanted to be positive, learning that technique that has two effects together in one skill.
"We all are." I start to speak to her and the others. "And that's why I wanted to go ask her today." I smile with the feeling that I wanted help from Cathe before anything else tomorrow. "Let's get going."
We start to approach, asking Cathe by the commercial streets to see if she is kind enough to help my request for Baren. "She's no ordinary cafe maid! She must be strong to take the lead for her shop!" Ishei throws out the excitement at me.
"Yeah, but as a maid to the cafe. Are you sure that she might help us?" F/n asks with concern. She was feeling that underestimating her is a bad start. There wasn't any other choice but to ask since I do have the footage and wrote down the notes before the event ended as we left the park.
"I'll try since she might be kind to anyone who is working hard in front of Alibreta," I reply to F/n before I would stand up and talk to Cathe first by the bench. My friends are watching me go when I start talking to Cathe.
"Y/n, you seem to be in good spirits." Cathe greets me as I tend to sit down next to her first. She would be the same as if she won the challenging prize. "And I'm guessing you were surprised?" Did she know we were watching?
"What surprise?"
"I didn't see you people being surprised after what happened with that ore." Cathe chuckles while holding out the crystal ore that she won after destroying the whole crystal. "I knew that there is a description and I managed to get my skill prepared."
"Have your skill prepared?" I have questions that I want her to answer. She made her skill prepared. Does she mean that she created a skill from her experience as an adventurer from the beginning? "You made it prepared just by creating with some effects and...?"
"You seemed to be interested in the time you came here from the trial by the village." She's not kidding if she knew about me too much. I don't mind if she has an easy term for me. "And you were this strong if you wanted to win so much." Is she talking about the time I wanted to avenge Ave's heart by beating the crap out of that bully?
"I am serious because that guy has to pay. I get that he deserves for treating Ave like trash. I never thought that people like him would be this dumb-headed, thinking anyone and teammates as weapons and tools."
"Sounded just like the person who hates scum like him around." Cathe chuckles, even she knew about him more than I would remember him. "Oh, I met Ave most of the time. She loves sweets more than standard meals."
"Sweets?" I thought if Ave loves sugar too much, I felt a bad moment if I don't stop her soon. "Right, I get that thought." Honestly, I am not a big fan of major sugar. My parents from my old world kept telling me not to eat too many things that contain a lot of sugar. I know the parts of sugar taste good, but with the trade-off? Yep, it counts as calories.
