Chapter 14: (Special Chapter)

"Hey, Aka-chin, train with me!" Mikey said whining.

"I'm working" I answered, I'm starting to get annoyed at Mikey's constant whining.

I was working as an intern for Shinichiro-kun at his bike shop, he's teaching me how to fix, maintain and modify bikes, but Sano Manjiro thinks training is more important.

"Manjiro, Akaza-chan will train with you later" Shinichiro told Mikey who groaned in annoyance. 

"But I'm your bestfriend, you should be hanging out with me!" Mikey whined again "You're choosing Shinichiro just because you have a huge crush on him" 

My cheeks started to heat up and I became flustered, I told him that in confidence! I grabbed one of the wrenches from Shinichiro's tool box and threw it at Mikey out of anger but Mikey caught it and stuck his tongue out at me.

"Don't fuck with me Sano Manjiro!" I cursed at him, I could hear Shinichiro laughing at the two of us.

"You throw like a girl" Mikey teased "Stop hanging out with my brother even just for day, he isn't going to get a girlfriend anytime soon, you don't have to stick by him 24/7, you're being too possessive!"

"I'm not being possessive!" I retorted.

"Who said I can't get a girlfriend?" Shinichiro said annoyed at Mikey.

"Please, you suck at picking up girls, remember when we were at the beach 4 years ago, you tried to get the number of that one girl" Mikey said as he reminisced Shinichiro's embarrassing moment. "She gave you a fake number!" He said laughing.

"It wasn't a wrong number" Shinichiro rebutted annoyed "her handwriting was messy, I couldn't read it well" he reasoned.

"The best shot you have with a girl is if you wait for Inumaki Akaza to become a woman, but that's unlikely to happen, she's manlier than you" Mikey laughed, this is getting too embarrassing and I'm greatly offended by Mikey's words, I was starting to tear up, I feel bad. How am I supposed to work at Shinichiro's shop now? It's too embarrassing! Mikey is such an idiot.

I got up from my seat beside the bike I was trying to do maintenance on and headed out the door.

"Mikey, you're such a jerk!" I yelled at Mikey before heading out, I couldn't help but cry from the embarrassment.

"Aka-chin, don't cry, I was just joking!" Mikey said feeling guilty but I ignored his apology and continued my way to the exit.

Before I could reach the exit Shinichiro grabbed my arm to stop me and patted me on the head to calm me down. Crap! My heart was raising and I could feel my face heat up.

"Hey, Don't cry, let's see what happens in 5 years when you're 18, okay? Calm down, Akaza-chan" Shinichiro told me, I was completely dumbfounded, my heart was going wild, I could faint.

In which I did faint...

...

I woke up on the sofa of Shinichiro's garage with an ice pack over my head. What the hell happened? 

Ah right, I fainted.

"How embarrassing~" I muttered to myself as I continuously hit myself on the head "real smooth Akaza" I sarcastically told myself.

"I think it's cute how you got angry then fainted" Someone replied with a chuckle, I got startled as Shinichiro was heading towards me, handing me a glass of water.

"You're never going to let me live this down" I muttered lowly making him chuckle again. "Where's Mikey?" I asked as I scanned the premises and Mikey was nowhere to be found.

"He went to his room, he felt bad for teasing you like that" Shinichiro said sitting down beside me. "I do hope you end up forgiving him, you know him, he can be childish at times especially when he gets jealous"

"Jealous my butt" I muttered under my breath.

"He has no one to play with ever since you decided to work for me, you've gotten pretty busy" He told me. "You two should spend the day tomorrow, business is kind of slow during winter, I can handle things here, you can have the day off"

"But I like working here" I told him shyly.

"Hmmm?" Shinichiro questioned 

"I like being with Shinichiro-kun" I continued, I could feel myself blushing madly again. Am I really going to tell him how I feel? "I really like you Shinichiro-kun, ever since I was 6, I've always been watching you! It's been 6 years and I still like you, I like you a lot!" I said declaring my love for Mikey's older brother.

"Even if I'm way older than you?" He asked.

"I don't care about that!" I told him completely embarrassed. He smiled.

"Okay, like I said earlier, let's see what happens once you turn 18" He told me with a comforting smile. I couldn't help but crack a smile, I know he just said that to comfort me, but at least it's something to look forward to in the future.

I wish I could grow up faster!

"Okay!" I said completely ecstatic.

[PRESENT - Mikey's POV:]

"It's been 2 years since you died" I told Shinichiro as I visited his grave "Looking back, I thought I was the one hurting the most when you left, but Akaza couldn't even come to your funeral, she loved you dearly and she really waited for you, she wanted to grow up faster"

I was devastated when Shinichiro died but Akaza's pain was heavier than mine with Shinichiro's death, she loved him so much, she was in the hospital in a coma when Shinichiro died, even at his funeral she was still unconscious, she never got the chance to see him one last time. She just woke up with Shinichiro gone.

"Akaza is growing up to be a fine woman" I told Shinichiro as I was lighting some incense on his grave "You're missing out" I added.

I still couldn't accept Shinichiro's death. It hurts, man.

"Hey you know what? I envisioned a future where you and Akaza were taking care of your twins, she became a doctor and you owned the biggest bike shop in Shinjuku, Emma would be with Ken-chin and we all lived happily together, it could have been great, right?" I said as tears started to pour down.

It's been 2 years, but not once has Aka-chin showed us she was hurting when Shinichiro left.
