It was beautiful day; the sky was clear, the sun was shining and Eda, Luz, King and I were standing on beach. A normal person could think that we're enjoying a nice day but that wasn't the case. Eda being the excited one. "Well, Luz. Did you ever in your life, think that you would ever see something as breath taking as this?!" Eda was very excited about this. What was she very excited about? A trash slug.
Luz,on the other hand was very uncomfortable or disgusted or both. "I don't...likethis." She said hesitantly, covering her nose but Eda ignored it. "Yes, itdoesn't much inspiring than a trash slug. It makes a home and life from othershad thrown on the wayside, until BLAM! It gets blasted by a wave one day and croaksfrom all the salt" Luz looked at me with wide eyes. I chuckled. "Don't worry,Luz. This is normal for us." Eda's antics always amused me, even her disgustingones. "And then we get to sell the stuff it ate." Eda held out a pickaxe toLuz, who looked sick. "Please, don't make me." She begged. King rolled hiseyes. "Oh come Luz. It's not every day you get to go to a dump and pick apart agarbage carcass." He was being sarcastic. Eda frowned at him before looking me.I simply rose an eyebrow at her and Eda pouted in response. "Ah nuts to youthree." She turned to pick at the giant carcass. "So Eda, Kaia." Luz began."What if we tried some new lessons for my apprenticeship, like read ancientscrolls or mix together potions or-" Eda cut her off with sound of disgust."Ugh, that sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff." She said while notlooking at us. Luz's eyes brightened. "Wait! Is there a magic school here? Likewinding towers, cute uniforms, dark plots that threaten your life?!" I chuckledat her enthusiasm but nodded. "Yes, there is a magic school here, which Eda andI both attended when we were young." I informed the human. Eda rolled her eyes."Yeah, but what's worse, they force you to learn magic the proper way." Inodded. "Indeed, magic isn't proper or predictable. It's wild and free. That'swhat makes so beautiful, Luz." I explained and Eda nodded. "Yeah, I mean Kaiaand I didn't finish school and look at us." Luz seemed surprised. "But Kaia, you're a healer?" Luz trailed off and I just laughed. "While I didn't graduatefrom school, I chose to do independent self-study and took the necessary examsto get my license." Luz had look of understanding on her face. "Oh, that makessense." She became sad when she realized she wasn't going to get her way, itmade Eda feel bad. "Hey! Here's a lesson: A great witch is resourceful." Edagrabbed Luz's hand and dunked it into a pool of slime. "Like this!" Luz pulledout a ball of slime. "Oh, hey, greasy slimeball." Eda made an attempt to soundwise. "Use your greasy slimeball wisely, young witch." She said while grabbing Luz's hand with both of hers. "Now back at it! We'll hit the stink nodes first." I shook my head. "Can't Eda. I have clinic duty. Luz, why don't you come with me back to the house." I gave Luz a wink and Eda pouted at me.
Luz was eager to follow me. "Luz, don't hold it against Eda. She isn't very traditional but she is exceptional at what she does." I explained. "But she doesn't teach me anything! I mean, at least you gave me scrolls to read." I chuckled. "Eda has a very hands on approach." Luz gave me a look which made me laugh. "I wouldn't worry about it. Trust Eda, she'll surprise you." Luz didn't look convinced before a different look crossed her face. "Um, Kaia?" She began. "Why is this Emperor person after you? I mean back at the jail and with fraud octopus guy. They didn't mentioned handing you over to this Emperor Belos guy. Why?" I sighed. "To be honest Luz, I don't know why. I mean I have an idea why, but I'm not sure." Luz tilted her head. "What do you mean?" "When I took my license exams, I scored higher than anyone before me, in healing, beast keeping, botanist and potions. Many of the covens wanted me to the join, including the Emperor's Coven but I refused." I stopped and gave Luz a serious look. "The Emperor seemed fascinated by me and has tried time and time again to convince me, but I won't abandon Eda." We continued walking. "So...He likes you?" Luz asked, confused and I nodded my head. "Something like that." "That's creepy." I agreed and noticed the time. "Oh crap! I am going to be late!" I smiled at Luz. "Alright Luz, I have to go now. There is lunch in the fridge, you just have to heat it up." I summoned my cloud of butterflies while Luz looked enchanted by them "Whoa! That's so pretty!" "Please make sure that Eda and King don't get into any trouble. Bye, I'll see you later." I waved goodbye and flew off towards the clinic.
