* Hi, everyone. Sorry i haven't update in a while. I was sick :(. Hope you enjoy this chapter :) None of the images of are mine, they for entertainment.*

We were all sitting in the living room, Eda was playing her favorite game: Hexes Hold'em. She challenged me first but I refused so she challenged Owlbert instead. Luz and King were watching from the floor and I sat next to Eda. "Watch closely, Luz. Hexes Hold'em is the most tricky game on the Boiling Isles. Any proper witch knows how to play." Eda said, smirking at Luz and I rolled my eyes amused. "Oh boy, cards! The paper rectangles that old people think are fun!" I couldn't tell if Luz was being sarcastic. Eda placed a card on the table, lightning erupted from the cards, causing Owlbert's card to do the same and attack Eda's. "Now when it looks like the deck is stacked against you, that's when you break out the wildcard." Eda held up a the tower card, it started glowing. Owlbert's cards were incinerated in a flash of fire, fiery letters spelling out: Winner: Eda. Eda cheered, jumping up from the sofa. "Woo, I win! In your adorable owl face. Ah, I love the feeling of victory, it feels...fluffy?" Feathers erupted from Eda's arms. "Uh, Eda? It's happening again!" Luz said, worried. I sat up immediately. "What's happening again?" Eda asked, confused. "Eda, didn't you take your elixir?" Eda yelped in surprise, running up the stairs towards her room. We followed behind her, me shaking my head, Luz and King panicking.

We stood around the chest where Eda keeps her elixirs, it was empty. This annoyed me a little and I gave Eda a stern look. She gulped and laughed nervously. "Eda, I thought I asked you to stock up on elixir last week." Eda shrugged and backed away a little and I just shook my head at her. Luz looked at us worried. "Uh, last time this happened, you turned into t his thing." She held up her phone, showing a picture of Owl Eda on the cracked screen. Eda looked at the picture. "I know I should be repulsed, but that look is fierce." "Edalyn!" Eda held up her hands. "You're right, you're right. We need to head to the market." Luz stood up. "Market!" She headed towards the door and King followed her. "I'm going to steal everything that's not nailed down!" "Before we go, would anyone like to play one more hand of Hexes Hold'em?" She patted her pockets, noting that her cards were missing. "Hey, where are my cards?" I had grabbed the deck and handed to Luz, who gave them Owlbert. "Take these and fly ahead. She'll have to follow us." Owlbert nodded, grabbing the deck and flew off. Eda ran after him. "Owlbert, you sore loser! Give me back my cards!"

The market was its usual busy, bustling self. We walked towards Morton's shop. Morton was Eda's go-to shop for Eda's elixirs. "Hey, open up, Morton!" Eda banged on the metal grate. "Uh, ju-just a minute!" Came Morton's reply. King and Luz went to go sit on a bench. "Is there anything better than people watching in the Demon Realm?" Luz asked with a smile. They were watching three witches catch the egg bus and roll off and Tiny Nose running up to catch it. "Wait, wait! Aw, dang it." Luz chuckled. "The curse of tiny legs." "I know the pain."

I noticed a group a bounty hunters approached with a cart containing a large demon bound on it. I narrowed my eyes at them, not liking the bounty hunters. They employed cruel methods. Luz walked up to us. "Whoa, that is one ominous parade." I shook my head at her. "That is no parade, Luz. They are demon hunters, dangerous nomadic witches who capture and sell the most powerful beasts." The bound demon struggled to break free but one of the demon hunters drew a spell circle, creating lightning and shocking the demon unconscious. Eda nodded. "Which I'm about to become if you don't open up Morton!" She slammed on the metal grate. Morton open the grate with an apologetic look on his face. "Sorry, Eda! Hi Kaia. I was up all night poison tasting and for some reason I don't feel great." Morton said, holding his stomach. I wanted to smack him. "Morton! You were poison tasting!" Morton gave me a sheepish look. Eda handed Morton an empty flask. "I'm all out of my juice, pal." "Oh gee, Let me see what I can do." Morton duck behind the counter and dug around.
