It was a normal morning for the inhabitants of the Owl House. Eda and Luz were downstairs rummaging through some boxes while King was snoozing on my lap on the couch. A knock came at the door, Hooty opened up and it revealed Gus. "Ah hello, Gus." I greeted the teenaged witch boy with a smile. He smiled nervously at us before looking at Luz, explaining why he was here. Luz gave him a look before continuing looking through the boxes. "Gus, I'd love to go to school with you, but I don't know how I can. Principle Bump banned me from the school." She pointed towards her banned poster. Eda snorted. "But nothing. Bump did you a favor. There isn't anything for you at that dweebus factory. No offense, dweebus." She said that last part to Gus, who waved it off. "It's okay. I come from a long line of dweebuses." Luz slammed the box she was holding down, making it clatter. She looked at Eda with a frown. "Well, I would love to go there some day. Better than unpacking boxes in the Eda Coven." Eda glared back at Luz. "Oh, you think you're clever, huh?" She stood up, facing Luz, who in turn squared off at Eda. I coughed a little getting their attention, they both froze, looking at me. "While everyone is entitled to their opinion, there will be no fighting in the house." I said, raising an eyebrow at them in warning. They gulped and sat back down and I nodded, satisfied. Ede pouted at Luz. "I mean, yeah, well I don't want to hear another word about Hexside, unless it's Hexside is on fire and let's grab front row seats." Eda stormed out like a child, slamming the door. King jumped up from my lap. "Aw, look what you did. I'm going to go rub it in. Nyeh!" He ran after Eda and I just shook my head. Luz looked at me. "I didn't mean to hurt Eda like that but I really want to learn magic, Kaia." I waved her off. "Don't worry, Luz. Eda just has some conflicted feelings about Hexside." I got up from the couch and headed towards my room.

When I entered my room, I noticed the communication journal glowing, indicating a message was written in them. I opened the journal to see a message from Belos.

My dear Lady Butterfly,

I write this to you with something that might be of interest to you personally. Last we spoke, you mentioned your brother had left your family long before the tragic accident befell your father. Your brother, Malakai left to travel the furthest reaches of the Boiling Isles though where he has gone, I know not. But I do know that he is alive. I hope this information pleases you and lest you wonder, I want nothing in return for this information. Only for you to know that I am sincere in my request. If I come to more information, I shall inform you.

Best Wishes,

Emperor Belos.

I stared at the message in shock. "Malakai...is...alive?" I sat down on the chair with wide eyes. "He's alive?!" For the first time a long while, I was in complete shock. My older brother was alive and Belos had just told me without asking for anything in return. 'Maybe he is sincere. Could we...Could I have been...wrong about...him?' "Maybe I should write a reply to him." I grabbed a quill and wrote my reply, thanking him for his information.

With Luz, Willow and Gus.

Willow and Gus were standing outside of Hexside, waiting for Luz. Willow was frowning at Gus. "This isn't going to work." She said. "Well, I feel like I took care of any potential problems." Gus replied with a shrug. "You lied to our best friend and told her you got the ban lifted. That seems like a potential problem to me." Gus almost pouted. "You don't understand. The members were going mad. They were bloodthirsty. They were touching objects. I had no choice!" Willow's frowned deepened. "Really? What about all the wanted posters around school?" Gus had a smug smile as he pulled out the wanted posters out of his bag. "What wanted posters? I also got this cowl to keep her undercover." Luz chose that moment to appear. "Undercover from what?" She asked, surprising Gus. Gus slammed the cowl over her head, causing Luz to squeak. "Behold your new cowl." "Whoa, I love it." Luz sniffed the cowl. "On the Boiling Isles, new things smell old." Gus nodded, nervously. "Yep, put it on. Hide your ears. Want to keep you under wraps till the big reveal." Willow gave them a look, while Luz had a look of understanding on her face. "Oh a showman! I totally get it. Your bring the razzle, I'll bring the dazzle." Luz threw a handful of confetti while Willow and Gus just stared at her weirdly.
