Tytan was late. Which didn't exactly bode well for the future of this date. A part of me wondered if he was going to show up at all but I think I knew that he would. Tytan being late wasn't unusual.

Things were starting to settle down. Finally.

And I didn't want to believe that this date would ruin all of that. It had no reason to. I liked him, and everything about the past week indicated that he liked me, too. The hand holding in front of everyone, the sneaky kisses, the hesitation every time he looked at me, almost as if he was afraid I was going to disappear. It meant he wanted to be around me, right?

That we kinda sorta belonged, for now.

There was a knock on the door and I shot up, startled, excited.

I opened the door and felt the excitement wash away. Hunter stood there, his face a wall.

"He's not coming?" I whispered.

"Exactly what a guy wants to hear after dragging himself out of bed at 6 a.m.."

"You woke up at 6 a.m. on a Sunday for me?" I placed my hands on my heart and smiled sadly, he wasn't Tytan, nothing was going to make that better.

"I always wake up at 6 a.m., today, I just happen to be at your front door, helping Tytan give you the kind of date you deserve."

Oh. Okay. Maybe Tytan is serious about this.

"Right, I don't believe you agreed to this."

"You're tolerable and I felt like doing something nice. Besides, I'm encouraging your boyfriend to be better."

"Tytan isn't my boyfriend."

"Don't say that out loud, you'll break his little, stupid heart."

"I'm glad you're talking to him now."

"Can we please get going, already? I don't know about you, but I have plans after this conversation."

"Right. How do I look?"

"A little better than usual, come on, now!"

I nodded and linked my arm with his, leaving the house.

"So where is he going to meet us?"

"You'll find out."

"How do I know that you're not kidnapping me?"

"I'm not going to dignify that question with a response." He shook his head and got inside his car.

"Technically that's a response," I said as I got into the car.

He didn't say anything after that. I felt a sense of giddy excitement as we got further away from home.

"Hunter, do you think this is going to work?"

"As a kidnapping ploy? It already has." He deadpanned.

I laughed, he had such a charm about him.

"I meant, do you think Tytan and I will work out?"

"I don't see why I should know the answer to that." He shrugged.

"You know us."

"You're both...a little bit insane, if that helps."

"Hey! That's a little mean, don't you think?"

"Yeah."

"So, what do you think?"

"I think it's not a question I should be answering. That's for you to figure out, with him."

"I wanted an outside perspective."
