"You're late."
"Lex was hungry." Mae supplied.
She understood. I needed my fuel to be at my full potential and she needed me at my full potential.
"I--I had to see the two of you." She whispered.
"Franny is something wrong?" Mae rubbed her shoulder.
She nodded.
"Go on, tell us." I urged.
"I did something. It's not something I'm proud of-- I was just so angry about everything and it felt right but I know it wasn't."
"Franny it's okay, you know we'll love you no matter what."
"This is different Lex. This is not me."
"I'm scared now, what did you do Francesca?" Mae asked.
"I ratted on you, Lex."
"You did what?"
"Hunter and I were talking and he just so happened to mention the fact that you stole my glasses once. It was supposed to be some sort of joke... Lex, you know I can't see much without them, I didn't think about anything after that. I walked to the Principal's office and told him about what you did to Gracie Fisher." I knew stealing the glasses was a bad idea!
Oh crap I was in trouble.
"I'm so sorry Fran but it was just a pair of glasses!" Which were returned in perfect condition.
"If you knew what I went through that day you wouldn't say that. You don't know how much it hurt when I found out it was you. My best friend." Okay I didn't realise it was that big of a deal up until right now.
"But Franny she could get into serious trouble because of you." Mae said. And for once Mae was right.
"I know... that's why I did it." She shrugged.
"Fran, Gracie Fisher is a bully, she got what she deserved."
"So you're trying to tell me that I deserved to lose my glasses for a day?" Well at this point if you don't stop talking I'm going to snap those precious glasses of yours right in front of your eyes.
"You know what? It's alright, I understand how you felt and I think I can deal with this on Monday." I put on a smile. I didn't want to erupt on her. I knew that we shouldn't have taken her glasses away for the day! She's upset and maybe I can't forgive her for it right now, but I can pretend!
"Lex, I am sorry." I nodded. It was just plain revenge. I couldn't be mad at her.
"Yeah, it's okay."
***
It wasn't freaking okay! I was in trouble. And I was going to take Badboy down with me.
I lay down on my bed and groaned.
This was bad. Very bad. I could see the whole thing playing out in my head and no matter what it didn't seem to end well!
"Are you okay? I'm sorry I know this is at least a little creepy but uh-- I noticed that you-- uh, you looked upset and I thought I'd ask." I heard someone call out.
I sat up and saw Teddy Bear. He was sitting near his window.
"Creepy is alright." I smiled passing a hand through my hair. "With the kind of day I've been having, this kind of cute creepy is definitely alright."
"Do you want to talk about it-- your day I mean?" He was adorable. Flustered adorable.
"I want to talk about you." I smirked.
