taehyun's pov ~
after aeri left, i got up from my bed and knocked on soobin's closed door.

"come in," he said.

i walked in the room and closed the door behind me. i found him laying on the bed but he moved his feet so i could sit at the bottom of the bed with him.

"so uh...aeri told me that you like me...well...that you like me back..." he didn't respond for a moment, still looking at the floor. but then he finally sat up.

"so you're finally admitting that you like me."

"yeah..."

"why didn't you tell me before? we could've been something by now. i know you're bad at feelings but think about how i felt. i doubted myself because for the first time ever, i finally felt something for a guy but i never knew you did too until a few hours ago. that whole entire time i thought that i couldn't get with you."

"i didn't know you liked me that much," i joked around. but then he got serious again.

"well, i do and i genuinely thought that i made it obvious. i thought that you would notice that you're the only person that i'm clingy around..."

"i'm sorry..." it got very quiet for a few minutes. neither of us were speaking, there were no noises outside, and it was dark. i felt alone for a second until suddenly, soobin hugged me. so tightly that i thought i couldn't breathe for a second.

"you don't have to apologize, idiot. i don't want your apology...i want you..." i took a moment to process what was just said but then finally wrapped my arms around him as well.

we were hugging for a long time.

and i wanted this moment to last forever.

soobin's pov ~
"wake up sleepyheads!" i slowly opened my eyes and turned my head to the side to see taehyun sleeping in the same bed as me.

"fuck! oh my gosh he scared me so much that my soul literally went to heaven for a second..."

"speaking of fuck..." she had a smirk on her face. "is that what you guys did yesterday? did he bring your soul to heaven yesterday too?"

"w-what? ugh aeri i swear to god. it's too fucking early for this shit." she laughed a bit.

"anyways...i need to talk to you." her voice got deeper and she seemed very serious all of a sudden.

"what is it?"

"well uh...i guess i'm leaving...my friend told me that i could stay with her..."

"oh my gosh...really?"

"yep..." we both stared at the ground for a moment.

"well i'm really sad now...i don't want you to leave."

"i know but...i can't stay here forever, haha. but she's coming to pick me up in about two hours so i have plenty of time to pack my stuff and say goodbye...listen, you guys were really nice to me and i never should have said those shitty things about taehyun. just...please tell him that he really helped a lot. i probably would've been murdered by my dad if it weren't for you two. hopefully my dad doesn't find me though."

"whoa...i can't believe you're leaving," taehyun said as he rubbed his eyes and sat up.

"you're awake?!"

"um yeah...i've been awake this whole time, trying to fall back asleep but you guys are too loud...i'm kidding, sorry...now isn't the time for jokes." aeri chuckled.

"what do you mean? now is the perfect time for jokes. i hate sad moments and jokes always make them better."

"well thanks for telling me that i helped you out a bit. i was feeling really guilty because i thought that i didn't do much."

"that's not your fault. you truly did help a lot but you also did as much as you could. anyways, i should start packing now. why don't you both come join me?"

we ended up talking more with her while she packed. even though we were sad that she was leaving, we had fun with the short amount of time that we spent together.

it's been two hours since aeri told us that she was going to leave and her friend was now here to pick her up.

"thank you guys so much for everything. maybe we'll cross paths in the future?"

"maybe." taehyun and i waved as she went in the car and left. we stood there, staring at the ground in sorrow and silence for what had felt like hours.

"why are we acting like we're at a funeral?" i asked.

"i dunno. but let's at least go inside and do that. not in the rain." i looked up and saw that droplets were falling like how taehyun mentioned.

"you're right."
