Rapunzel slipped on a green, gold and white dress and as the girls walked into the dining hall they saw their parents sitting and wearing confused expressions. "Is everything alright?" Rapunzel's asked.
Her mother stood, "Uh dear come sit." She pulled out a seat and reopened a letter.
"What's that?" She asked.
"Uhm. Well when we were expecting a child we had an, um, an arrangement; and after you were stolen we forgot about it."
"An arrangement?"
"An arranged marriage."
"What?" She and Merida asked simultaneously.
"Yes, to the youngest prince of the Southern Isles." She had an apologetic look on her face.
"No." Rapunzel said looking up, "I won't. Send them a letter saying I-"
Her mother cut her off, "they're already on their way here. They should be here within a day or two."
"Then I'll tell them when they arrive." She said grabbing the plate of biscotti and bruschetta and walking out of the hall, Merida followed after.

Rapunzel sat on the wooden pole lining of the docks with her arms crossed, waiting for her arranged suitor to arrive. It was late in the afternoon and the wood was blistering her feet; just as she had decided to give up, a horn sounded, and the sails of a sail rose over the horizon. As the ship pulled up and dropped its anchor a ramp was lowered and a man dressed in pristine attire stepped off.
He walked towards her and held out his hand, "Hello. I'm the prince of the Southern Isles."
"One of." She looked at his hand. "Do you have a name?"
He was slightly thrown off but stood straight, "Hans Westerguard."
"Well, Hans, you're wasting your time. I'm not marrying you."
"I understand, you've only just met me. But there's no reason we can't get to know each other." He smiled, "Be friends?"
She looked at him suspiciously but agreed.
They walked into a small cafe with purple stained windows and gold sheets around the walls. Hans looked around disdainfully and wiped off a stool before sitting. They ordered tea and made small talk. "I'm going to go order something to eat, do you want anything?" Rapunzel asked.
"Sure but I'm not very familiar with Italian cuisine, why don't you pick it?." Hans replied smiling.
"Ok. I'll be back then." She skipped away.
'Things are not going well.' Hans thought, 'I can't afford to be thwarted this time.' He reached under his ascot and pulled out a chain with a small sword shape bottle at the end, it was filled with a dark red liquid with thin black swirls at the bottom. His gaze drifted to Rapunzel and then to her tea.
