Chapter 11

"Jade, what do you have for me?"

Tanong ko kaagad pagkasagot ko sa tawag ni Jade. I was about to get out of my car when she called and I instantly knew that it would be something important, because she's one of the agents I picked to be in my team for my new mission. Inutusan ko siyang alamin ang mga lakad ni Senator Gadiano.

["Senator Gadiano will be in Crème de la Crème, tonight, Master Tear, at 7 PM."]

I arched an eyebrow. Crème de la Crème Restaurant? That's not really something that interests me. Elites usually go there to have their exquisite meals on a daily basis. Hindi ako pupunta sa lugar na 'yon para tingnan lang siyang prenteng kumakain ng mamahaling pagkain gamit ang perang para sa taumbayan. Baka kung ano pang magawa ko sa kaniya.

"And?" I asked, "Tell me why I should be there."

["He'll be having a dinner with Senate President Ramonito Lopez, and Dr. Leonel Vicada II, in a private room."]

My forehead instantly formed a crease when I heard the last name she mentioned. Maiintindihan ko pa na nandun si Senate President Lopez. But Dr. Vicada? Anong gagawin niya do'n?

"Book the nearest available room to the one they booked. I'll be having my dinner there, tonight."

["Noted, Master Tear."]

"Good. And keep me updated, Jade."

["Yes, Master Tear."]

I ended the call and put on my sunglasses before getting out of my car. Diretso akong pumasok sa Café kung saan kami pangalawang nagkita ni Dash. I received his message this morning na dito raw kami magkikita kaya agad akong naghanda. Hindi naman ako masiyadong excited. Nakaka-ganda lang kasi talaga ng araw ang kaguwapuhan niya.

When I entered the Café, I instantly roamed my eyes to search for him and when I saw him in a table for two, near the glass window, a smile stretched my lips. Tahimik akong naglakad papalapit sa kaniya at hindi niya pa ako napapansin dahil nasa librong binabasa niya nakatuon ang atensiyon niya. He was even wearing a reading glasses and I bit my lower lip when I felt something in my stomach. Dang! He looked damn attractive even with his eyeglasses!

Nang makalapit ako sa table na kinaroroonan niya ay walang sabi-sabing naupo ako sa katapat na upuan. Kunot-noong nag-angat naman siya ng tingin ng mapansin ako pero kaagad din namang nawala nang makita niya ang mukha ko.

"Hey there, handsome," I greeted and smiled cheekily at him.

His lips parted and his eyebrows furrowed in an instant. "What did you call me?"

Mas lalong lumapad lang ang ngiti ko. I removed my sunglasses and my eyes bore into his blue-grey ones.

"Handsome," I shrugged, "Why? Are you not?"

A small smile split his delectable lips, as he closed the book he was reading. He then, removed his reading glasses. Nakamasid lang ako sa bawat galaw niya. I even tilted my head to the side and looked at him, like he was a strange specimen that I need to study.

Well, he's the most handsome specimen, I have ever seen.

Nang mag-angat ulit siya ng tingin sa 'kin ay hindi ko inasahan ang pagngiti niya. "I am handsome," he muttered, "and you're gorgeous."

My lips parted as I blinked twice, to absorb what he said. Shit! I already know that! And it was definitely not the first time I heard it from someone. But hearing it from him sent tickles in my stomach.

I averted my gaze to avoid his hypnotizing eyes. I cleared my throat as I was silently scolding myself for reacting that way. I never reacted that way in front of a guy before! Nakakainis!
