Chapter 1: Introductions

Sakagami began explaining the way the school works to the students. "This school runs off a points system. On one hand, there are the Class Points allotted to you from written tests and special exams."

He showed them the rankings, as all classes are currently tied at 1,000 CP in the first month.

"Special exams are exams that will truly test your intelligence and teamwork beyond mere academics."

"Eh?" Suzune muttered. 'It looks like I really will have to work with other people, huh. Dammit.' She was hoping to go through her high school years with only a few friends and minimal contact with most people, but it wasn't meant to be.

"The other kind of points are private points." Sakagami handed them their student ID cards. "These cards can be used for all transactions. You may check your phones to display your current private points balance. Right now, you should have been given 100,000 points for the month. 1 point is equal to 1 yen. You can buy anything with these points. These can be transferred between individual students for free or for something in exchange, however, extortion and bullying is strictly monitored and won't be tolerated. Such behavior will result in expulsion.

Any questions?"

Suzune was about to raise her hand, but Kiyotaka's shot up first as he asked the question she had. "How many private points will we receive next month?"

A boy with shoulder-length red hair, Kondou Reo, snorted. "Are you dumb? He said 100,000 points each-"

A girl's voice cut him off, the same silverette Kiyotaka saw on the bus. "Pardon my French, but are you retarded? He isn't stupid, you are. Sakagami-sensei said we'd receive 100,000 points this month. THIS. Wording is key, and your attention span is akin to that of a gold-fish. Why are you here? Maybe you should drop out, because your very existence is an insult to my presence that exudes perfection."

Kondou buried his face in his desk in embarrassment.

Many recoiled at the vicious verbal bite from the narcissistic beauty. Some girls found themselves disgusted by her while the guys not named Kondou Reo were immediately attracted to her.

Well, most of them anyway aside from a certain magenta-haired boy and a dark-skinned American-Japanese student, neither of whom are masochists that wish to be stepped on like the rest.

Kiyotaka and Suzune are neutral, agreeing with the girl. Both know first-hand that good looks don't mean anything when that attractive, smart person could be a shitty human being on the inside, so they reserve their judgements for the individual character of those they interact with.

Sakagami smirked. "I cannot tell you. However, I can say this much: Be careful." His eyes danced between the two students that he could tell are intelligent from how they spoke, despite one having a sharp tongue. "I look forward to seeing how the two of you develop as students."

The attention of everyone drew to the two students.

The girl smirked.

Kiyotaka sighed, not liking the attention, but he accepted the fact that pursuing success by leading the class is his only route towards a peaceful life.

"Anymore questions?"

Suzune beat him to the punch this time. "Exactly what type of content will be covered on special exams?"
