Chapter 4: Shady Deals

Ayanokouji yawned as he rested his chin on his hand and stared out the window, which Horikita noticed but didn't say anything as they're in the middle of class.

This morning, he went to the gym and sparred with Ryuuen, both equipped with boxing gloves. Needless to say, while Ryuuen was persistent, it barely had an impact on his fatigue.

No, he rarely gets worn out, but this time, Sakagami-sensei's lectures were boring him since it's stuff he has already learned. He'd prefer that the school distribute his schedule differently, but the most boring classes are in the morning starting with Geometry before moving on to Biology, then Japanese Language and Literature, PE, his favorite period of them all in Lunch, English 1 and 2, and World History last.

School lasts 7 hours and 30 minutes, 1 hour and 10 minutes for all six of his classes and another 30 minutes for lunch, running from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Then after school is another 1-4 hours of club time depending on which exact club a student is in, and since he's in the Student Council, he is required to serve all 4 hours before going home, eating dinner, and sleeping.

Adding the fact that he already has mastered all of this plus all high school and college core classes, at least in math, biology, chemistry, language, and other courses no one has taken yet, such as philosophy, then Kiyotaka couldn't help but yawn, barely staying awake as he took notes.

This school isn't pushing him hard at all though when compared to the White Room. He's just suffering Light Yagami syndrome.

Sakagami-sensei, who is currently teaching them World History, noticed this, and having an idea of how smart the boy is, even without knowing his past, he wanted to test his knowledge again by calling him out. "Ayanokouji-kun, you are dozing off. Since you feel like you deserve a moment to sleep in class, why don't you tell me all the major wars that led to World War II?"

Sighing, Kiyotaka stood up. "The Seven Years War led to the American Revolution, which would eventually lead to the American Civil War. However, before that, the American Revolution would inspire the French Revolution. The French Revolution caused the Napoleonic Wars, which would eventually cause the Austro-Prussian War and the Franco-Prussian War, both of which led to the unification of Germany, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and the beginning of World War I in 1914. The American Civil War would lead to Americans wanting to intervene in Europe during World War I out of a sense of unified nationalism, especially since they intercepted a message, the Zimmermann Telegram, where Germany was attempting to bribe Mexico into attacking the USA and take back the territory they lost in the Mexican-American War.

All of these reasons would start World War II because Hitler was a veteran of World War I and because he got rejected from the same art school twice right before the first World War, despite making terrific paintings. That, combined with the abuse he suffered from his father as a child, and the fact that he got injured in the war due to a chemical weapons attack, all made him quite the hateful psychopath that desired Germany's world domination.

War is in human nature, so eventually, World War II will lead to World War III, whether you like it or not."

Sakagami-sensei sweat dropped as did everyone else. "That last part was unnecessary... But good job. Can you tell me how many people died in each of those wars individually and then combined together?"
