A/N: I'm changing things. Originally, I said that I would write all of this fanfic in 3rd person except for the SS's, but while that is still true, I want to occasionally write certain chapters from a character's 1st person POV, and that starts now.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka POV

It is now night time.

All of our chores are done for the day.

I observe my surroundings.

Nishino seems to be getting along well with Kiriyama and Tokitou, occasionally stealing glances towards Hiyori, who is chatting happily with Kinoshita.

Kinoshita Minori, a beautiful girl who confessed her feelings to me, got shot down, cried, and is now feeling much better as she sometimes turns towards me and smiles.

Nodding towards her as she turns away and resumes talking about books she enjoys with Hiyori, I sigh.

A moth flies past me and in crazy circles above the camp fire. I observe its radical movements.

Being primarily nocturnal creatures, moths are interesting, as disgusting as they may be. They travel while guided by the evolving and devolving glow of the moon by a method called transverse orientation. Transverse orientation, keeping a fixed angle on a distant source of light for orientation, is a proprioceptive response displayed by some insects, such as moths. By maintaining a constant angular relationship to a bright celestial light, such as the moon, they can fly in a straight line.

The results are beautiful, in a sense.

A short, fragile life ends right before my life as the moth comes too close to the fire, catching the flames, and instantly disintegrating into nothingness.

It sees light while I have only seen white until recently.

"Are you okay, Kiyotaka?" Suzune's voice originates from my 8 o'clock as she places a cold bottle of water against my cheek.

I grab it. "Thanks. I'm fine."

"You were really watching that moth, Kiyocchi." Fuuka rests her cheeks on her hands as she peaks out of her tent, laying on her abdomen.

Another sigh escapes me. "It's just that I felt like, for a moment there, I could relate to that moth. I've invited nothing but trouble, both to myself and to others. Ever since I have enrolled in this school, things have been getting more and more dangerous for us all."

They stay silent for several seconds.

"I'm glad I met you, Kiyo-boy. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have seen all the great things that others are capable of. Not that anyone is on my level except for them, but I do admit that there are some decent students at this school. I hope they keep me entertained in the future, even just a little as much as you have."

"I see. You're welcome, I suppose... But there's something that's been on my mind."

"What is it?" Suzune speaks.

"I've read many things on the internet, most of which are stories too dark for normal people to stomach. They include tales of experiencing child abuse, being stalked, kidnapped, sexually assaulted, forced to do wrong against one's own will, or even physically trained for the purpose of becoming someone else's personal Grim Reaper.
