Chapter 12: A Moment of Rest

Kinoshita sighs as she stares at the boy walking in front of her while the five begin walking back to their base. 'I wish I could tell him how I feel about him, but not only does he barely know me, he is also quite close with Kiryuuin-san and Horikita-san. I doubt I can compete with them.'

"Is something wrong, Kinoshita?" Ichinose is worried.

"Eh?! Um... No! Nothing at all!"

"Are you sure? You let out a pretty heavy sigh."

"W-Well..." She stops walking, so Kiyotaka turns to face her.

"Hm?" He tilts his head innocently.

Minori leans close to him and whispers, "Can I talk to you later? In private?"

"Ah, sure thing. Should it be when we arrive at base camp?"

"It's a personal matter, so I want it away from private ears."

"Oh, I see. That's fine. Just let me know when."

Arriving at B camp, Ichinose is astounded by the location. "I have to give you credit, Ayanokouji-kun. You sure know how to pick the right location for your base camp."

Kanzaki nods. "The trees form a wide oval shape surrounding your base, protecting you from too much sunlight and giving you cooler temperatures than what we in Class A have."

"At least you people have the beach, and it's not like your food supply is scarce; I saw plenty of hanging fruit on the trees near your beach."

"That's true," Kamuro nods.

Ayanokouji steps close to the Class A trio so that no one can hear them. "Also, have you told your classmates about the deal Sakayanagi and the other class reps made with me?"

Ichinose shook her head. "No, we haven't. I have a couple friends in Class A, and they would have told me the news if they knew that you became the 1st Year Representative. Same goes for Class C and D. Because they don't know, I decided to hold off."

"I haven't told my classmates either except for the other three that were there, but I did provide them with study guides for next semester."

"Told us what?" Kinoshita asks.

"Nothing. I'll explain it to everyone when the time is right, but I don't think that will be any time soon."

Kanzaki narrows his eyes. "By any chance, do you think you could provide the other three classes including ours with these study guides?"

"Not at the moment, no. But what I can give you is this," Kiyotaka drops three 1 TB flash drives into his hands.

"What is it?"

"This, Kanzaki, are 1 TB flash drives that contain videos of me explaining all the material that we will cover this year to help you study. Keep one for your class while making copies for your classmates, and then I want you to give these to the other classes, but only hand them over at the end of our vacation so that they can relax and enjoy the cruise once we're allowed back onto the ship. Don't tell your classmates about it either until we return to campus."
