Natalia's P.O.V
-----------

I peeked my eyes open with a groan.
What was going on, where was I, and why was I here?
Then a black shape caught my eye, and the memories flooded back.
I sat up quickly, and struggled to my feet.
Oh, I was in big trouble now. How long had I been gone?
I looked up at the sun to see what time it was.
The sun was a quarter up, and it looked like it was risin- haha, who was I kidding?
I don't know how to read the sun.
I tripped over a stick in surprise as suddenly, the Night Fury appeared right beside me.
"How is your head?" she asked.
"you hit it pretty hard,"
I frowned and felt the back of my head.
Sure enough, a large lump sat at the back of my head.
"It doesn't hurt," I said, shrugging.
She nodded, and we fell into silence.
After a moment, I broke it.
"Why are you here?" I asked suddenly.
She looked at me.
"What?" She asked.
I repeated my question and she frowned, looking confused.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked.
"I mean, why did you stay with me?" I asked. "you could've left me ages ago. Heck, you could've left me on Dragon-Bane island and escaped much faster. So why didn't you?"
She looked thoughtful for a moment.
"I don't know," she finally admitted.
"There's just something I like about you,"
I didn't really know how to respond to that.
"Thanks," I mumbled.
We were quiet for another moment.
"I can't stay," the Night Fury said after awhile.
"I know," I replied.
"Come with me!" The Night Fury suddenly suggested. "we can explore the world together! I will admit, I didn't really like humans in general, but you've opened my mind that some humans can be nice. I want you to come with me!"
I was shocked by that, but some part of it was appealing to me.
"I-I..." I hesitated.
"I'll think about it," I finally said.
"I'll wait for you for a two weeks here on this island," the Night Fury said in reply.
"If you don't show up by the end, I'll know you decided to stay with your people,"
I nodded, then looked around, pondering how to get home.
That froze me in my thoughts.
I had just called Berk, home.
Since when did I start thinking of it as my home?
The Night Fury nudged me.
"Do you need a ride home?" she asked.
I smiled sheepishly.
"Yes please," I answered.
She smiled a toothless grin quite reminiscent of Toothless.
"Hop on," she offered.
I lightly hopped onto her back.
"Where to?" she asked.
"Berk,"
She took off, and headed towards Berk.
As the sea whizzed by, I laid my head on her back, and thought about what she had said.
Did she actually want me to come with her?
And would I actually go with her? I had lots of people I'd be leaving behind.
But still, it seemed finally something was my decision, in my control.
It was my choice to go or not.
The time flew by, and finally, I spotted Berk on the horizon.
The Night Fury landed on a deserted beach not far from the village.
"Thank you," I said to her.
She smiled.
"My name is Morra," she said, then flew off.
Morra.
Interesting name.
I started the walk back to Berk village.

Hiccup's P.O.V
------
I walked slowly to the edge of town as I thought about everything.
It's been two days since we last saw Natalia.
Warrath had retreated more than half a day ago, probably to regroup.
We had won temporarily, but our defenses were low, and the villagers were tired.
There had been a Viking funeral this morning for the few who hadn't made it.
Uncle Desmond hadn't slept since he found out Natalia was missing.
I turned down a path that lead to a deserted beach not far from the village.
Then, a flash of colour just ahead caught my eye, and I glanced up.
To my absolute shock, Natalia was walking up the trail that lead to the village.
She was looking at her feet, so she didn't see me on the same path until she almost walked into me.
She quickly looked up to meet my eyes with a surprised look in her eyes.
That reminded me of the first time I met her up by Gothi's hut.
Then I hugged her tightly.
I hadn't realized how worried I was about her until I saw her again.
She was fourteen, and I had recently just met her, but she was still my little cousin, and I felt over protective of her because I kind of saw her as a little sister instead.
I drew back from her, then raised an eyebrow.
She saw my look and smiled.
"There was something I needed to do,"
That was it.
That was all she said.
I facepalmed, then started laughing.
She started laughing too.
"We need to go tell the others you're back," I said. "it's been two days, and your father hasn't slept at all."
At the mention of her father, Natalia stopped laughing.
She now looked young and unsure, nothing like the strong teen I'd seen just moments before.
She looked at me.
"How mad is he?" she whispered at me.
Why would she think he would be mad?
I asked her that aloud, and she looked at her feet.
"My dad has never been happy with who I am," she said. "he'll probably be quite angry that I left without telling him, because he doesn't like spontaneous actions."
I suddenly felt really bad for her.
It seemed she had the same father issues I always had.
I put an arm around her shoulder.
"You'll be fine," I said.
She sighed.
"I guess," she replied.
We then started the trek back to my house.
When we got there,
I walked into my house with Natalia, where Rose, Minow, Uncle Desmond, and my mom were crowded around the small table.
Astrid was also there, but she seemed much more relaxed than the others.
"-to search for her!" I caught Uncle Desmond saying.
"She's always so impulsive!" Rose added. "We could've helped her if she had waited for us and told us what she needed."
Astrid suddenly stood up.
"You guys need to chill!" She said.
"Natalia is fourteen! She had something she needed to do, and personally, I wasn't gonna stand in her way!"
Woah what?
So apparently, Astrid knew where Natalia had gone.
"So you know where she is!" Rose said accusingly.
"Um no," she replied.
"I have no idea where she is."
I walked in then with Natalia.
"Guys, stop arguing," I said.
Everyone's attention turned to Natalia and I, who stood in the doorway.
They all stared for a minute, then started crowding Natalia, asking a hundred questions per minute.
She backed up, and I could sense her starting to feel claustrophobic.
Then her father stepped forward.
"Natalia, where have you been?" He asked angrily.
"You can't just run off whenever you feel like it without permission!"
Natalia sent a pleading look to me, and I stepped forward.
"Uncle Desmond, you shouldn't be angry with her," I said.
"there was obviously something important that she had to do,"
Uncle Desmond looked angry.
"I am her father, and what I say goes." I stated.
Then I got angry.
"It's been like three years," I said. "you can't just assume the same role that you did before. Natalia has had to grow without you for a while, and she's not the eleven year old you left."
"Nephew, do not get into business that's not yours," Uncle Desmond said. "you know nothing about what's going on,"
"I have a pretty good idea," I said.
"Natalia talked to me all about everything about a week ago,"
"Please stop arguing," Natalia interrupted.
"Natalia! Have you learned nothing? Do not interrupt me when I'm having a conversation!" Uncle Desmond said.
A tear ran down Natalia's cheek.
"Nothing's changed in three years! You never listen to me," she said. "I bet you weren't even worried that I was gone!"
Then she clapped her hands together, and a bright light surrounded her.
When the light dimmed and disappeared, she was gone.
Oh no.
She was really upset.
I wonder what point in time she was now?
From what she had told me about time travel, emotions sort of controlled how far you jumped in time.
I hope she was okay.

Natalia's P.O.V
---------

I landed with a bang in my house in the future.
I fell onto the floor, and didn't bother standing back up.
Why did my dad never listen to me?
I had hoped after three years, he would have changed.
But, no, still the same.
I could really see the Viking in him now, always stubborn and needing things done his way.
I had known it all along.
Most memories of my dad I had forgotten, but remembering them now, I knew nothing had changed.
My dad had been disappointed that I was born a girl.
He'd wanted a boy.
My mom had too, but I knew she loved me for who I was and she would never change me.
I sobbed quietly, and fell asleep.

-----------

I was woken by a cool hand on my cheek.
I cracked open my dry eyes, and saw my mom sitting beside me on the floor where I'd fallen asleep.
"Hey sweetie," she softly said.
Seeing my mom after what seemed like forever broke something in me.
I sat up quickly and wrapped my arms around her, burying my face in her chest.
She hugged me to her, and I felt like a tiny child again.
"What happened?" She asked.
That was one of the many things that I loved about my mom.
She didn't yell at me for disobeying her, she just saw something was wrong and focused on that instead.
I took a deep breath.
"I found dad," I whispered.
She stilled, and took my head in her hands to look me in the eyes.
"Really?" She asked, hope in her voice.
Another thing I loved about my mom.
She always believed me, no matter what.
I nodded hesitantly.
"Could we see him?" She asked.
No doubt she missed her husband and wanted to see him.
Then she saw the look in my eyes, and understanding filled hers.
"We'll go see him after a nice cup of cocoa and a good talk." she told me.
That sounded like the best thing I'd heard in a while.
As we walked downstairs, my mom asked casually, "where's Rose?"
I froze.
I had left Rose back in time!!
My mom saw the look on my face and rose an eyebrow.
"Is she safe?" She asked.
I thought about it.
I guess she was as safe as could be, considering the circumstances.
I nodded.
"She's with dad, my new friends, my cousin, and my aunt." I said.
My mom rose her other eyebrow.
"We really need to talk," she said.
I nodded.
"Definitely."

A/N
Oohh, dramatic!! Lol.
Sorry for the shorter length in chapter...
So I was thinking, it might not make sense sometimes because Hiccup said Natalia talked to him about her life.
When would she have done that?
Well, it's sort of like, a day or two passes in between every chapter.
So these chapters only record some of the conversations and events, then the chapter ends, but life still goes on in Berk, then a couple days later, the chapters starts recording again, but having missed some of the events in between.
Does that make sense?
Who am I kidding, it probably confused you more.
It's like this; not all the stuff that happened on Berk with Natalia is in the chapters.
Okay, I'm done giving you a headache now.
See you next week!
