Natalia's P.O.V
--------------
"Are you ready?" I asked my mom.
We had been just spending time together for a while, but then she had been anxious to see dad.
So now I was steeling myself for the drama that would be present when we returned to the past.
My mom nodded quickly and took a gentle hold on my arm.
I took a deep breath, then concentrated.
The tingling feeling raced down my arms in a split second, much faster than before, then I clapped my hands together.
I closed my eyes as I felt us being sucked back to where my best friend and the rest of my family awaited.
I thought back to before all this happened.
I had a simple job as a scientist's assistant, I had a cat, my best friend Rose, my mom, and that was pretty much it.
Pretty boring.
But also, really, and I mean really, not stressful.
Unlike now.
But I wasn't going to complain.
Many of the changes were good.
Hm, looks like my fifth birthday wish had finally come true, in a way.
I had wished for a flying horse.
Not Cuz I liked horses or wings, but Cuz I had this stupid girl that picked on me in school and I had wanted to fly above her on my winged horse and let it poop on her.
I know, charming.
Well, I guess technically a Dragon is cooler than a flying horse anyways, and that girl had moved away ages ago.
I wonder if-
I was cut off from my seriously ADHD charged thinking by a flash, then a change of scenery from time swirls and galaxies, to the nice....quiet? town of Berk.
Okay, that's a laugh, it was not quiet.
I steadied my slightly swaying mother, and glanced quickly around to take in the scene.
Great.
Ol' Chef Boyardee was back.
How long had I been gone?
My mom looked frightened as she looked around at the battle that roared around her.
I shook her arm.
"Mom, we have to get to the great hall!" I yelled over the noise.
She followed as I pulled her.
"Nat, who is that crazy man over there?" she asked, pointing over to where Warrath was screaming some battle cry and running around with a giant two-sided axe, swinging it like a maniac.
"Oh that's the guy that kidnapped me," I said absentmindedly, forgetting my mom knew nothing about that.
"What??" she shouted at me.
I thought over what I had just said, then cringed when I replayed it in my head.
Oops?
"Not enough time to explain!" I said as we ran up a well worn path towards the great hall.
I saw Hiccup, Rose, Minow, "Valka, Astrid, and my dad fighting off a whole armada of soldiers trying to reach the great hall in the distance.
My mom looked at the scene in front of her with an annoyed look on her face.
"What a great bunch of buffoons," she huffed.
"I'll be likely to go deaf at this rate if they carry on with that racket."
I shrugged, half agreeing with her.
I pulled my mom into the blacksmith shop.
"Stay here," I said, pulling out the dagger that Astrid gave me.
My mom gave me a wide eyed look.
"Just what do you think you're doing?!" She shouted at me.
I grinned at her.
"Helping!"
Then I ran off.
I nearly got bowled over my a giant Viking, who shouted 'Morning' in a cheery voice.
Weird...
I had thought it was night?
It must be really early then.
I spun around, searching for a quicker way to get to the great hall without dying.
Seeing a Monstrous Nightmare land about a hundred yards away, I dashed over, and jumped on its back.
I directed it to the great hall, where the others were slowly being backed up against the wall.
I dived, and the Monstrous Nightmare let loose a huge stream of liquid fire on the attackers.
The attackers screamed and ran off patting out the fire, while the others looked up with surprise, until I landed with a thump and jumped off.
"What happened while I was gone?!" I shouted at them in disbelief.
My father scowled, most likely miffed I had 'left without his permission' again.
I rolled my eyes, and turned to the others, who were smiling warmly at me.
Hiccup ran forward.
"It was a trick!" he told me.
"We had assumed Warrath was retreating, but not a day after your absence, he returned with more ships and soldiers! The fight is not in our favor!!"
That sounded bad.
But then, a thought occurred to me, and a smile made its way to my lips.
Hiccup gave me a funny look.
"Why are you smiling??" he asked. "this is bad!!"
I stepped forward so he could hear me better.
"I think it's time for Toothless to use his Alpha status, don't you?" I asked.
Hiccup looked confused for a second, until it dawned on him.
He smiled widely at me, then facepalmed.
"I can't believe I didn't think of that!" he said.
"Think of what?" dad asked.
"Where is Toothless?" I asked.
Hiccup pointed to the dark sky.
"I made him another self controlling tail a while back, and he's taking out the soldiers." he replied.
I nodded.
"What's going on?" my dad demanded.
"Do you have a way to call to him?" I asked.
Hiccup nodded. "Yup, this whistle. It's too high for the human ear to hear, but for a Dragon, not a problem."
"Excellent," I answered.
"Natalia, I demand you tell me this instant!!"
I sighed as my father starting getting irritated at me again.
"We will inform you of what we are doing later, father." I said coldly.
Hiccup wrapped a comforting arm around my shoulders, and glared angrily at my dad.
Just then, my mom ran up.
"Natalia Cowell!" she yelled, clearly steamed.
"Uh oh," I whispered, trying to hide behind Hiccup.
"Yes mom?" I asked innocently.
She shook a finger at me.
"Running off like that into battle like that! You can't do that! You are grounded." she stated firmly.
Ah man, not again.
Rose laughed from where she was standing, and I playfully glared at her.
"Cressida?" I heard my dad say slowly.
My mom froze, and turned to look at my dad, then turned white when she saw him.
"Desmond," she whispered.
Then she ran to meet him, and I turned away from their small reunion, wanting to give them a little privacy.
Hiccup nudged my shoulder, and showed me the whistle.
I nodded, and he blew it silently, which was weird, blowing a whistle but nothing coming out.
Though not a minute later, the screech of a Night Fury sounded over the chaos around us.
Toothless landed gracefully in front of us, and suddenly, I got the urge to hug him.
So I did.
Toothless was a little surprised when I just ran up so fast, but then I could feel him smiling.
"I missed you Toothless," I mumbled.
"I missed you too Natalia," he said.
Hiccup walked up, smiling slightly.
"Bud, we need you to use your Alpha command and send one giant wave of Dragons after Warrath's army. We think that will tip the battle in our favor,"
Toothless looked surprised.
"Why didn't I think of that?" he grumbled to himself.
Then he looked at us and smiled a toothy grin.
"I will be right back," he promised.
Then he shot into the sky.
A moment later, a huge terrifying screech filled the air.
If Toothless hadn't been on our side, I would've been terrified.
Then, the most amazing sight filled the sky, and I heard everyone around me gasping.
Literally hundreds upon hundreds of Dragons were flying in a giant spiral overhead, surrounding the small island of Berk.
Suddenly, in one large motion, all of them dived, and attacked Warrath's army.
Pure chaos ensued then.
There were so many Dragons, even small Terrible Terrors, and in the back of my mind, I vaguely wondered what Thyme, the baby Monstrous Nightmare was doing right now.
Then a loud horn echoed across Berk, and the soldiers began retreating.
I heard the others cheering behind me, but I couldn't take my eyes off the incredible scene.
Then, a different shout sounded behind me, one that distracted me to look at them.
"Natalia, look out!" Rose shouted.
I was confused, until suddenly, I heard a whishing sound, and time slowed down.
I turned my head, and saw an arrow making its way over to me from Warrath, who stood on the hill.
Not quite sure what I was doing, I reached out to grab the arrow, stop its path an inch or so in front of my head.
Time went to normal again, but then there was silence.
I realized that time had not slowed down, but I had reacted so fast, it seemed like it had.
Warrath screamed up on the hill, enraged his arrow had not found its target.
Then he charged off after his men.
"You're just like them," my mom whispered, from where she was standing by my dad.
I dropped the arrow as if it had burnt me, then looked at my mom.
"Like who?" I asked.
"How did you do that?" Minow asked incredulously.
"I don't know," I replied hesitantly.
My mom was silent for a moment, and I looked at my hands.
How had I caught that arrow?
"You're like your grandparents," my mom finally said. "they used to do things like that when I was a kid all the time."
My grandparents?
I realized I hadn't seen them in over two years.
I think it was time I started visiting them again.
"You mean they caught arrows?" I asked her.
Mom nodded.
"Stuff like that. And sometimes they would test my reflexes," she added. "like they were looking for something. But you know me, I have terrible reflexes."
I exchanged a glance with Rose and Minow, who both shrugged at me.
I looked up as a roar filled the sky.
Toothless landed beside us, looking pleased with himself.
Most of the Dragons were circling to leave, as Warrath's ships were already lining the horizon.
"Great job bud!" Hiccup told Toothless as he scratched his ears.
Toothless purred happily.
I smirked at Toothless, as he playfully glared at me.
Vikings cheered around us, as the battle was finished.
Aunt Valka finally stepped forward.
She had been very quiet up till now.
"Let's go back to Hiccup's and my house," she offered.
"We have lots to talk about,"
Everyone agreed, and we all started walking in that direction.
--------------

I sat in a corner of the house with Minow and Rose, where we were sipping hot cocoa, and idly talking about stuff.
"Do you think your time powers have something to do with catching that arrow?" Rose asked.
I shrugged.
"Maybe," I replied. "but remember what my mom said, my grandparents could also catch arrows and things like that."
"Is there a possibility that they are also time travelers?" Minow asked.
I nodded. "I'm not sure, because I thought I was the only one, but dad is also a time traveler, so I'm obviously not. Maybe my grandparents are also time travelers,"
"Maybe it's genetic," Rose offered.
That struck a chord with me.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"Well," Rose started. "maybe it's a trait passed down in your family."
Suddenly, Minow snapped her fingers.
"Wait," she said. "if you pass down characteristics or genes like you say people can, maybe your grandparents, or your great great great great great something grandparents were also time travelers. You said time sort of slowed down enough for you to grab the arrow right?"
I nodded.
She continued. "But to us, it just looked like you moved super fast. Either you got it from genes, where the time travel chemical is already in you, passed down from an earlier generation, or the time traveling chemicals have gotten into your muscles, and is now allowing you to move faster than humanly possible."
"That's genius," I said.
Rose nodded in agreement.
"I think we need to have a talk with my grandparents." I said.
"Agreed," Rose and Minow chorused.
I looked at them both.
"You guys ready for the future?" I asked.
They both jumped up.
"Yes!" they chorused again.
I laughed, and prepared to time jump us as they held onto my arms.
"Natalia, wait!" I heard my mom call.
I stopped, and turned to her.
"Yes mom?" I asked.
"We have something we'd like to say, your father and I." she said.
I nodded, silently telling them to continue.
My mom looked excited.
"We're going to be moving here!" she exclaimed.
Oh okay.
Wait, WHAT??
"What do you mean we're moving here?!" I demanded.
"Don't get upset Natalia," my mom said.
"We'll be visiting our other home sometimes, but our main home will be here, on Berk."
Oh my.
This is an interesting turn of events.
I looked wide eyed at Rose, who was equally wide eyed.
"W-We'll talk about t-this later," I stammered.
My mom nodded.
"Be safe wherever you're going," she told me.
I nodded, barely listening, my mind whizzing with thought.
"Let's go," I murmured to Minow and Rose.
They held onto my arms, and I clapped my hands.
In the blink of an eye, for some reason much faster than normal, we reached just by my home, on the street.
I steadied both Rose and Minow.
I smiled at Minow.
"Welcome to the future Minow!" I said to her.
