"Why'd you drag me to this lame party?" MJ complains as we walk up the driveway.

"Because I didn't want to look like the loser that shows up to the party alone."

"But you are a loser."

"Ouch. You know sometimes your 'brutal honesty' is just brutal." I frown, already feeling out of place enough, I didn't need my only friend right now to also isolate me.

"Sorry I didn't mean-"

"What are you doing here?" An all too familiar voice asks.

"Could ask you the same thing Parker. You said you weren't coming?" I ask in shock.

"I-I changed my mind." He scratches the back of his ear.

"Hey guys, cool hat Ned." Liz approaches us. "I'm so happy you guys came, a little surprised, but really happy. There's pizza and drinks, help yourselves."

"What a great party." Peter compliments.

"Yeah, your house is... amazing." I say in awe, another thing to be jealous of about Liz.

"Thanks." A glass or something shatters and she quickly excuses herself.

"So whens Spiderman showing up?" Ned asks him.

"Don't tell me Ned actually convinced you to invite him." I shake my head.

"N-no, I-"

"Penis Parker! What's up?" Flash on a microphone interrupts. "So where's your pal Spiderman? Let me guess: in Canada with your imaginary girlfriend? That's not Spiderman, that's just Ned in a red shirt."

"Peter just ignore him." I try pull him away.

"I gotta go. Uh, do something." He mutters, getting out of my grip.

"Don't do it." I warn him, looking straight into those beautiful brown eyes of his, searching for an ounce of common sense. To no avail, he just kept running. What an idiot.

"Well look who we have here!" Molly's mocking voice began. "You know I have to say I'm surprised, I didn't think you were a party girl y/n?"

Molly had never stopped bullying me ever since kindergarten. She made my life hell. No sympathy. No compassion. She'd make fun of my appearance, what I wore, what I said, even the fact that my biological parents were dead. She was relentless. She was an asshole.

"Just leave me alone Molly, I'm not in the mood." I slumped my shoulders.

"That's a nice outfit you're wearing, I'm digging the whole 45 year old divorced depressed librarian look, it suits you!" She high fives her friend.
