Jake's POV:

Lunchtime rolls around quickly and I wait for the boys. When they show up we head to the cafeteria, grab our food, and sit at our table.
We're all quiet for a while.
"So.." Liam finally said.
I look up at Liam.
"How's it going with Daisy? Getting closer to her?" He asked, looking at me.
"Well-" I start. "Hard to say, especially since I barely get to see her at all, y'know. She's always busy with dance rehearsals and head cheer and counseling. So she doesn't have a lot of time to come to our rehearsals."
"Then how do you expect being able to ask her out if you barely hang out?" Liam asked.
"Not sure.." I didn't think about that. Personally I thought that with my great singing voice I'd be able to ask her out without any problems. But.. I did think that this singing contest would get us closer. But I didn't think this one through.. But I'm sure it'll work, right..?
"Hey, if she rejects you. Drew is free!" Henry chimed in.
I blush a little. "W-what?"
Drew blushes a little too. "What? I'm straight and I like Zoey, Henry!"
Henry rolls his eyes. "That's what you say, but everyone knows that's a lie."
I try changing the subject but I can't think of anything. How could Henry possibly think I like Drew? I mean.. I'm straight and Drew is my best friend, it would just be strange to date my best friend..
I glance over at the clock. "Oh! Shoot! I'm late for rehearsals!" I quickly grab my lunch tray. "I'll see you guys in class." I put my tray away and hurry off to the music room.
I come in to see everyone in the club talking. I smile as I walk in.
"Hey guys!" I say with enthusiasm.
Hailey glances at me. "You're late. Again. Do you not have any source of time?"
I nervously laugh. "Sorry, Hailey. The lines in the cafeteria are long and and.."
Hailey rolls her eyes. "This is the fifth time you've arrived late. Try to be on time from now on otherwise we'll have to take a step forward to help you get on time. Alright?
"Yes ma'am!" I say.
I see Milly messing around with her guitar, Sean sitting on his table where his laptop is located, Zander with his arms crossed in the center of the room, and Luke talking to Zander while standing beside him.
"Anyway, we should get started practicing. Before we run out of time again." Hailey said.
I laugh. "How dramatic would it be if the bell rang like.. right now?"
Hailey glared at me as she went to grab her guitar. Everyone else goes to their instruments and stands behind them.
I go to the microphone and we start practicing.

Drew's POV:

I don't eat much for lunch, I wasn't feeling very hungry today. Henry and Liam talk to each other while I stare at the floor arms crossed. I still can't help but think about Jake choosing them over us.
I mean he's always busy, he doesn't even get full lunches with us anymore. All for Daisy? What's does he see in her anyway? As Liam said, they don't even hang out that much. She's always busy. I'm never busy, and he likes her? I just don't get it..
And what if he ends up leaving us for those music freaks and all of this back fires? I mean he's become quite attached, he's always thinking about them. He didn't start spacing out until he joined the music club.
Before then he hated and bullied them.. And now suddenly he's close friends with them? I just don't get it.
Besides, why would he wanna embarrass himself on stage like that just to impress some girl? Is Daisy really more important than me?
I couldn't think straight. I almost wanted to cry at the thought of Jake leaving m- us for those freaks and Daisy..
Liam looked at me. "Hey, buddy, you alright there?"
"I'm fine.." I say under my breath.
"You don't look fin-"
I slam my hands on the table angrily. "I. Said. I'm. FINE"
People around us look at us with confused expressions on their faces.
I sigh. "I'm going to the bathroom." I get up and walk off to the bathroom and go into a stall to calm down.

Liam's POV:

"Jeez, what's eating him today?" Henry asked.
"Not sure," I answer. "But something serious. I don't think Drew has ever acted like this before. He slammed his locker shut and slammed his hands on the table. Something's defiantly wrong."
Henry shrugged. "Maybe upset because his Jakey boi never spends time with him anymore." He laughed.
I do a half laugh. I hope whatever the issue is isn't too bad, Drew can get emotional sometimes.

Jake's POV:

After rehearsals Milly shouts in excitement.
"We sound amazing!!" She said.
"Yeah! We're gonna ace this competition!" Sean said smiling.
"Hopefully, yes." Hailey said. "We still have lots to practice."
I chuckle. "C'mon, Hailey. Relax, would you? We sound great."
"I know.. I just want things to go perfectly. Like what if someone doesn't show up cause they're sick? Or something else happens?" She answered.
"What if you just stop worrying for once. I know mind blowing." Zander said sarcastically.
"Says the one with stage fright." I tease.
Zander glares at me. "Y'know I'm going to your house after school, right?"
I gulp, remembering.
Luke climbed down from the chair to his drum set. "Things are going to go great, Hailey! Don't worry yourself too much!"
"Thanks, Luke. I'm just.. Y'know.." Hailey answered.
"It's alright, I get it."
The bell rang, we all walk out of the music room and off to our next classes.
